Ok... updates...updates. I worked on the patterns, found what I thought to be the best looking materials, I began doing some test cutting and quilting,etc. While doing my research I learned that there were several different Shock trooper costumes, using different materials. This is what I came up with! It is a finished Shock trooper's Vest and gauntlets, lined and quilted. I added patches to the chest and collar and a new belt with a belt patch. I have not done the jump suit yet because I want to do it when I get started on an all red V-suit. I want to dye all the pieces at the same time. If you have any questions let me know. And don't forget... "They are our friends!"

I've got a really dusty hat and glasses around here somewhere. I'll have to see how the money goes between now and then before I'll know if I can do the rest. Me and the local droogs are talking about doing a group of fictional Golden Age superheros too. (No tights, just trenchcoats goggles, labcoats and fedoras for most of us)

I received some friendly e-mails re: the actual material used on the Shock trooper vest. So, with that new information I had to make a new vest and gauntlets. Here's what I ended up with! I know I'm starting to obsess about this project. But hey, this was a childhood dream of mine. This is going to be the material I use for all of the Shock Trooper vests and gauntlets. I will be getting started on the Red vest in about a week, along with the jumpsuits. So for now, here are some pictures of the finished Shock Trooper. Remember,...They are our friends

Ok... :loveI took some pictures of the V suits ( Personal and Shock Trooper) That I have been working on. I think they turned out pretty nice! So these helmets are basically old US army helmets painted gold with a big visor shoved on the front.

Of course all good visitor troops need a good sturdy knife for cutting up their lunch rats.

Great stuff! I might have to get a rifle sidegrip from you when they're ready- I always thought one of those would be a pretty slick handle for a futuristic knife!
