More DL44: Master Replicas vs Custom

I am still fixated on Han Solo DL44 blasters. I finished a Denix/FM project recently. But I continue to look at what’s in the market. I would pick up an MGC if I could find a reasonably priced one. That leads me to eBay and searching for MGC, Mauser C96 parts, anything I could use on another blaster (don’t tell my wife).

What I’ve noticed when searching are some fairly nice custom DL44s out there. Some built on MGCs. And no one seems to be buying them. Yet people are buying Master Replicas for $3k. What do you guys think is the attraction to the mass produced DL44 that doesn’t look screen used versus the hand made customs?

Some folks are more into licensed replicas rather than fanmade. Either they don't realize the fanmades are usually more accurate or that isn't important to them.
