I just wanted to show off what I have been working on in my spare time. First off, I want to thank Street Judge for the V-suit. We worked out a deal that I was very happy with. Thanks again Steve! This is a filmed original outfit from the series V The Final Battle. As you can see the suit is in perfect condition, no holes or tears in the entire costume. I have a seamster who is very good at restoring outfits to almost original condition. He took care of some loose treads in a few seam areas. He then showed me a trick to fix fading in fabric. The belt is not original. I wanted the patch that goes on the buckle so I did some dye testing and found the original color code that they used. ( Test colors pictured below). After that crazy task, taking about 3 days, I had patches in the correct color and fabric cut to the proper sizes. I had my Embroider make them in sets: 1 vest patch , 2 collars, 1 belt, and yes a hat patch. Now... before anyone says but that's not the right hat! Your are correct. The hats they used are no longer around nor is the company. But... You have to agree that this is very very close. Besides they used at least 3 different hats that I can find used throughout the series. If any of the V collectors out there would like a set, PM me for the info. Now... on to the hoister (picture below). I used a filmed original as reference. (Also available). I have been working on this rifle (picture below) for a few weeks now. Please note that there is a pistol and a rifle. The stock will be made out of metal. As you can see I need a little more detail work done and soon she will be ready for the silicone bath! The only different between this one and a filmed original is this one is going to be clean and straight. Not to put down the filmed originals - they are what they are. If you have ever seen a filmed rifle or pistol you know what I mean. I just wanted mine to be clean and straight. I will keep you up to date on this project as it moves along. I have found the company that made the jump suit and the correct fabrics, so I will start making patterns and doing outfits very soon. ( Keep in mind that there is more than one type of jump suit.) For the V collectors out there you can PM me for missing parts or accessories for your collection.
Enjoy!
