Yo, Demon! Do you have the OLD Reliant kits, or the UPDATED kits? If you have the older ones, the conversion kit has extra pieces to correct the hull width & stuff, if you have the newer ones, you won't need it.
FYI

I actually have a few of both. But I did not know that the newer kits were more accurate. That is good to know. I might pull one of the older kits so I can use these parts up so i wont have to do it later. Feeling a bit ambitious I am!!

More prep, more putty...:rolleyes

Loving your build:)
Thank you so much!
This build is made more interesting by the fact that the on-screen shots of it are inconclusive in some ways, forcing me to do some interpretation; precisely what my client outlined at the beginning. I'm free to frack some with the aztecing!:lol

That thing is so fricking cool. Can't wait to see the paint job you do on this.
I will be building one of those for my number 1 client.....ME!!!!:lol

Hello, everyone! This is the "client." After lurking for a bit, I figured I'd register and say 'hello.'

I have to say I'm impressed with the care that Chrisisall is putting into this; I know little to nothing about model building, haven't built one in probably ~30 years, but knew I wanted a Soyuz-class as soon as I saw that Federation Models made a conversion kit for the Reliant. I met Chrisisall through purchasing one of his outstanding BSG Viper models and asked him if he'd be interested in taking on a...ummm..."eclectic" commission. ;)

I'm glad he did!

P.S. As for the question, "Why the Bozeman?", those greebles aren't sensor pods, as Memory Alpha indicates. They're guns. They're all guns. The Soyuz class was basically a battlewagon used for anti-piracy and system defense. So given that my favorite Trek ship is the Miranda class to begin with, why *wouldn't* I want one bristling with ouch-makers? :love

Oh, and BTW, I *did* seriously think about asking to have it lit, but figured I'd scare him off if I asked for it. :lol

OTOH, when his queue frees up again, I do have a spot on the shelf for a top-notch USS Brattain :angel

Hey dude! Welcome to the site!

So, painting ensues- I'm laying a black base, then later a light gray that will let the deeper shades in the lower recesses of the model show through ever so slightly, lending depth to the piece.

Aztecing will follow- the most challenging part in the painting.

Guns will be the very last thing to be added.

Hey- it's the BatmoBozeman!

:lol
This is sailing smooth now. Little tweaks here & there at this point, overall a very satisfying build!

Well, got my kit today and I have to say that this is one of the best cast kits I have purchased. there are a few areas that need a little work but not many. Really looking forward starting this kit. I don't think it would be really hard to light this kit. I may be wrong as I have been wrong on an occasion or 10 but it looks like it wouldn't be tough.

Chris, your Bozeman looks fantastic. If your black paint comes out like I think it will I will do the same. Should make for easy weathering.
Looking forward to more updates!!
