TV and Movie Key Props

Mondoshewan key form Fifth element would be cool too, you would have to decide if you wanted to have it with the crushed finger still attached.

I had missed the earlier Fifth Element posts. I though it was odd no one else had suggested it.

What a cool idea.

Here are a few. Biff's Paradise Hotel key from Back to the Future 2. The DeLorean key.

Has anyone done a run on the Pleasure Palace keyring? I'd be interested in one myself.

It's doable, but you'd need a number of people interested as the minimum quantity is usually 100 tags.

----edit-----
This could be a good run. I'm going to look into it.

Twice now I was drawn to the thread, by the title thinking it was about featured props. :$
After so many years in the film business, when I see "Key prop", it means something very different. A "Key prop" refers to an "important" or featured prop. Prop keys, however, refers to keys used as props.

I regards to prop keys;
One of the issues in film, with keys, is they make noise, especially if they are on a big key ring hanging on a belt. Security guards, cops, maintenance workers, often have a ring of keys hanging from their belt. But these jingle and jangle, making the sound guys nuts.
So often, in prop rental houses, you will find a ring of keys, with groups of keys glued together, because they don't make as much noise that way. We actually made prop keys, that were 5 or 6 different keys molded as a stack, then cast in pewter. This way, the prop master can have a huge key ring on an actors belt, and it doesn't make any noise, but they have the weight of real keys so the swing more naturally when the actor moves.

This is a screen used Canary Rifle. I restored the Art Deco magazine and added the missing shoulder strap.
