TRON/RINZLER armor costume.

Yeah, I agree with danger, just try and make it at least a bit thicker, so you can then get more of the 3 dimensional look out of it, of the rubber kind of sticking out from the suit itself....

yeah. you might could get away with 4 layers, and around ten is it would looks nice and rubbery, then top it off with a matte finish

Ya and I've got the matte paint already, now I just need to go get the plastidip on Sunday. So anyway totally random but... You guys have no idea the feeling of listening to the song called the grid from tron legacy and then looking out the plane window and every things black accept for this light up city that looks like a circuit board.... I got butterflies in my stomach

I want to fly down to LA to stay with my aunt again, go to disney land, and film with freddiew. Do yiu think theyd me it the airport with tron armor on?

So I'm still sitting here on this plane.... Thinking... And so I thought I would give everyone my plans for when I get back home. First I'm gonna cover the front armor with more glue to make it where you cant see the glue stains/lines. After that, I'm going on Sunday to get some plastidip from home depot. Im going to cover it with a many layers until it gets to a 3d layer look. Then I'm going to paint it over with the matte black paint I have and hopefully it should look close to the movies chest piece after all that work. So, if anyone has any more ideas for me to make it more accurate, I would love to hear them because on it's covered in the glue then the plastidip, there's no turning back...

ya man... and the black gaurd is gonna require alot of time to make too with all the grenades and stuff.

I may have to wait for the movie to come out on DVD, there aren't enough reference pics of the Blackguards. I'd rather not base the entire costume off the action figure...

You misunderstand. Plastidip is not going to add any thickness to the costume. It's just paint. You want to add more layers of foam to achieve the 3d look. Check out the iron man builds and you see what I mean. Don't be afraid to build up the foam 3 dimesionally. Don't rely on stacking panels on top of each other and having the cut out shape define the edges. Try some edge gluing to get the 3d shapes. I emphasize looking at the foam IM builds to see what you are trying to achieve.
