TRON/RINZLER armor costume.

the thing with the standard LEDs is that you will need to make the areas of the suit that are Lit, much thicker. If you use SMDs you can keep the
sleep design required to retain a screen accurate look.

ok so i was looking at my rinzler figure today and i noticed that my armor and his armor are realy realy realy close. anyway other than the color (gonna fix that...) and the way it fits him (all i gotta do is glue it onto the shirt and put it on and that will be fixed.) so anyway heres a comparison pic... see what you think.

If you're talking about Silicone Encased LED strips, here is a good site for those...

Only problem is that this site doesn't have them in orange.
Silicone Encased LED Strips - Ribbon Thin, Waterproof & Flexible

And I'm looking at eventually making a blackguard costume and noticed in one picture that their lighting looked more red than orange. In every other pic and the movie the color was more orange, but was the intended color red? Or should I just stick with orange?

try a realy dark orange, about like rinzler's. i just had an idea, all of us tron fans who are making the replica costumes should totaly meet up at disneyland on halloween dressed up as the characters. i would totaly call rinzler.

Disney meetup in October would be cool, seeing as I won't have even be able to start this costume for at least a month, maybe longer.

How flexible is EL Tape and how much of the tape can you actually cut/modify before it stops working? On all the outfits, the width and angle of the lighting changes. Basically what I am asking is, can you fold and cut the EL Tape to fit the pattern or would you have to use separate pieces of the tape with different power sources in order to achieve the shape of the lighting?

I would totally be down with a meet up, but I know for sure that I will already be out of town for halloween haha....

ya... hopefully mine will be done by then but idk. and yknow man im not sure about the EL tape, this is the first time ive worked on a light up costume!

lol, okay.
With the blackguard costume, I probably won't use EL Tape at all. All the pics I have found make it look better suited for LEDs.
Wish I had money so I could start this soon...

good link, could always use orange film over the white leds. I think
these are a great option for Rinzler and Tron due to the minimal amount
of lighting on the suits, not to mention the obvious power supply ease
with using LEDs instead of EL sheet, tape or wire.

this would be my suggestion

Flexible SMD Strips (Exterior)
thanks for the link! much appreciated! and also im not quite sure if im doing rinzler AND tron or just rinzler or tron... so the white might actualy work.

Hey guys, I'm on an airplane right now so I'm bored, but anyway I just wanted to take a moment and ask you guys what else you think I need to do to the chest armor and if you think it's accurate enough. Thanks guys please reply! Remember I am trying to make it almost perfect so if you see anything that needs to be added on, please do tell!
