Tron Legacy Costume

It's been awhile, so I'm not sure if anyone cares XD But I finally managed to get some better shots of the Tron dress that weren't just quick pics from parties...

Still actually need to do another shoot so I can get good shots of the back and the shoes.

Enjoy!

That really is a damn cure setup. Clean and professional in all its aspects. Nice work V.

You should know me well enough by now CN... I am not one of these 5lbs cos players. When I go for the Disc Kill, it's gunna happen! :grin

Stunning! Both the dress and the lady! :)

Victoria, that dress is an incredible work of art! I know that LOTS of people on here are interested in seeing more pics of it and learning how it was constructed. Please take more pics and even a brief rundown of how it was put together would be great! Fantastic work! :)

I will definitely post better photos as I get them :)

As far as a rundown of the construction, that's something the bf, Jinyo, would have to supply as he's the complete creator of the dress and all its crazy wiring.

Wonderful look SI, as expected from one of these great kits. My Green Disc freaks people out at clubs and parties and there is always someone suddenly falling into SuperGeek mode and asking to pose with me/it for pics.

Okay, this is for anyone doing a CLU, Rinzler or Sam Flynn Grid suit.

Here's what I imagine these suits will require and the source options.

EL tape and EL panels, and inverters: From either e-luminates or glowhut
Anybody have opinions on either company? I have a couple of panels from glowhut that work nicely, but I'm hearing e-luminates are brighter? True? False? Also I noticed the panels I have from glowhut are rather stiff, like a laminated card, not something you'd want to bend or fold.

Footwear: Waterproof motorcycle boots seem to be the best bet for the Grid look, I'm trolling the shopping section of google for the right pair.

Disk: Toy Disk, modded until it's no longer a toy but a prop. :cool (okay it's a toy, but don't tell anyone, we're adults :lol)

Top: I am using a long sleeve smooth black 1/4 zip mock turtleneck thermal for the base layer, not sure how to get the hex pattern on it yet.

Armor: chest, back, arm, thigh pieces which will be the mounting surface for the EL tape.
Layered 1/8 inch foam, first layer is the base, 2nd, for the detailing and EL tape channels; As for the foam type, I'm thinking either microcel or volara. Any opinions on the foam type?

Misc: Gaffer's tape for blocking out shape onto the EL tape.

Thoughts? Insights? Suggestions? :)

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everybody who's been posting on this thread. It's been such a huge help to me and I couldn't have done my costume without all of you who have been making Tron costumes as well! So I thought I'd post a few pics. :)
