Transformers Movie - Universal Studios Singapore Costumes

The mobility is very good. I will say that we have trained professional stilt walkers in them, and those guys really bring them to life and get around real well.

Unfortunately these are only at the Universal park in Singapore. I can't confirm when or if the Hollywood Universal will get them yet.

A few interesting notes;
Optimus Prime is just over 9 feet tall, Bumblebee is just over 7 feet
Each costume weighs less than 85 lbs.
Both costumes are made of carbon fiber
The actual ILM digital animation models were used to CNC the patterns (especially Bumblebee)
Used the same automotive paints that were used on the film cars.

Thanks for all the comments! Our team worked hard on these, and it was a different kind of challenge for us. We normally don't create these type of characters.

These are absolutely incredible!!

I'm a little confused though, you said Bumblebee was just over 7 feet tall? Are the people seen near the costumes just very small? Seems Bee has about 3-4 foot on the woman in one of the pictures with him.

Amazing costumes though!

Just found this thread, wow you did some really amazing work. And the actors/stiltwalkers are doing a great job too! How is the audio system working? I watched some of the video from orlando, looks like they are talking in real time!
And on stilts?
And in such a perfect audio quality?
And with such a perfect movie intonation?
Unbelievable...

I got a chance to see them both up close at the Universal Studios Hollywood. They look awesome! I'm such a fan of the Transformers I can't even begin to tell you how much. YOUR WORK IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!! LOVE THEM. Did you also do the Megatron as well, I'm sure of it. Keep it up, and I can't wait to see more work from you and your studio. autobot.jpgoptimus prime.jpg

Is it possible to purchase one? I would be interested in one or two or maybe 3 if you can produce all 3 suits. (Optimus, Bumblebee and Megatron)

I visit this forum often, but never seem to have a reason to post anything. Until now anyway. We just completed a set of walk-around costumes for Universal Studios Singapore to go with their opening of the Transformers ride. I thought I would post a few photos now that they are out in the open. My team did a great job on these so I wanted to show them off a bit.

I'm glad you like them. Yes, in the Orlando park they do talk in realtime through a system that Universal Orlando developed for these in house. We just installed the components for them. None of the suits originally were intended to have audio when first designed, so it was a challenge to make all the gear fit.

Thanks for the complements. It's not just me producing these, I have a great team of people that works with me. Megatron is ours too, and by far the most detailed and largest Transformer we have done to date. Keep an eye out, we have plenty more coming to various parks all over the world.

Thanks for the interest, but these are not available to the general public. These were specifically developed for Universal Studios through a licencing agreement with Hasbro.
