Oh yes the 6V batteries are definitely big and cumbersome but my build has a lot more room for stuff like that. Later down the track I may look into something lighter. THere are things like sealed acid batteries or something along those lines (again, those more knowledgeable than I will know better) and are rechargeable I think. Certainly lasts longer than a series of AAs or a tiny 12v battery.
The LEDs on the tyres are diffused by a strip of foam gap filler rod ( Gap Filler Rod Moroday 10mm 5m White Mgf2 1-81219 I/N 4061881 | Bunnings Warehouse ) inside of a clear tubing, which has been sprayed red using the type of stuff you use on the tail lights of cars. Part of the tubing has been sliced off on the hidden side in order to give a clear light to the foam. The other lit up parts of him will have plastic plates and a clear type of flexible kitchen chopping mat I found to diffuse.
Are there any other ways of defusing the LEDs or dose it have to be with the gap filler rods?
