Exhaust Port, small target, SAM's lining the trench, crack squad of fighters flying below their radar.......Yeah, I guess “Don’t Think…just do” is sorta like “Use The Force” or “Do or do not…there is no ‘try’”.
And George Lucas admitted he got the trench run scene from The Dam Busters (1955), which is a film based on the true life story of Operation: Chastise.Exhaust Port, small target, SAM's lining the trench, crack squad of fighters flying below their radar.......
It's the story and character that are good. No filler, no lack of consistency between this film and the previous one because someone thought something was broken or concepts were out of date. It's story and character, pure and simple. So I finally got to see it. Looking at so many responses, questions and explanations on why it's so successful, and many hours of research I figured out why the film has done so well. It is a bit complicated so bare with me.
It was good.
I hope I did not get too technical or bury the point in minutia.

No worries.Yep.
Sorry for the rambling.
It's a call back to the original Top Gun where Charlie asks Maverick "What were you thinking up there?" and he says "You don't have time to think. If you think, you're dead."Yeah, I guess “Don’t Think…just do” is sorta like “Use The Force” or “Do or do not…there is no ‘try’”.
You’re saying Top Gun: Maverick…had too much…Maverick?Apparently, someone thinks that Top Gun: Maverick has too much Tom Cruise in it now. XD
IKR? I mean, the film has the titular Maverick right in the title. Kinda makes sense that he would be in a large chunk of the film. XDYou’re saying Top Gun: Maverick…had too much…Maverick?

Clownfish was reporting on a website making the claim and were adding their two cents. Here's the actual site that made the report: Top Gun: Maverick Has Too Much Tom Cruise
