Re: Tobin's Spirit Guide! (NEW sample pic pg. 4)
What about some "hand drawn" sketches? Like a villager sketched what he just saw.
Yes! Like leprechauns!
I have a few suggestions for you.
First, with Vigo, instead of having a page in the book that credits "Magicians, Martyrs and Madmen" maybe you can include a torn out page from that book?
It seems to me that the GB's would have just read the info from Tobins in GBII if it were in Tobins. It leads me to believe the Tobin's info is sparse on Vigo since they consulted a different book and not the one they seem to know frontwards and backwards.
Next, I'd be more than happy to research the comics and video games for references to Tobins.
For example, there is a really neat backup story in issue 8 of the new Ghostbusters ongoing comic that directly involved Tobin himself.
I'm not sure if it's popped up anywhere before but according to the new comic, Tobin's name was "John Horace Tobin."
It states he was investigating a monster that was snatching kids in an East German village. It then implies he was involved in the Tunguska blast of 1908 (he looks to be involved, and may have caused it to kill that monster).
It shows him hunting Mammoths in Siberia, which implies he was a Cryptozoologist too. And there's a cool scene where he comes literally face to face with Death itself.
It also states he was Cambridge educated and was famous for "exposing fraudulent spiritualists."
I can provide scans of just about any page from these comics. There are also a few images that are supposed to be drawings done by Tobin for his book which are, to my knowledge, the only clear "official" glimpses of the inside of that book we've seen.
Also I believe a lot of the artifacts you collect in the video game are supposed to be listed in Tobin's and they mention Tobin's a few times throughout the game. I actually have that game in my Xbox right now so I can get that info easily.
