Very nice photos of the suit and how it was worn. How did people respond to it?
I belive this is the first time we have one for one of the bigger conventions shows. ;)

Could you please let us know what size you are? It whould be great reffrence to others.

Also please share on what boots you used it whould be of great reffrence to other people here arronud your size.

I love the way you paired up. It looks great! I also love the way you did the bodysuit.

We are still working on the B.A.S.E. Suit and hope to have it finished soon.
It will have similar quilting all over in same areas as you show. ;) It really made it complete.

BTW those eyes.. how does they work? Can you se clearly out? Its one of the better eyes i seen.
If I am not mistaken, isn't this one of your suits?

I saw it at the 2008 San Diego Comic-con International. It was very popular.

Yes that is one of our earlier suits. We never figured who was in that photo.

The speaker isn't very big; it's about the size of my palm. And it's got a bit of grippy velcro so it sticks to the undersuit easy enough. I programmed in a few sounds from the movie (walking, blasts, a few of RDJ's lines, + ozzy's IRONMAN :love)

There is limited volume control but w/ such a small speaker it sounds kinda distant and a little muffled... given that it's hidden beneath the chest piece. Actually it kinda sounds loud to me :lol

But there is nothing like walking down the street, rocking out to IRONMAN.

:D Very cool, hope you had a great time. Never heard of that event. And why in middle of a dessert?

Burning Man?

Middle of the desert because they ran out of space on the Beach in San Francisco. For 1 week, the temporary city of "black rock" becomes the state of Nevada's 4th largest city; as 40-50 thousand people all go camping in the desert and party all morning, noon, and night. People built all kinds of crazy things. When I get my photos posted, I'll post the link here.

They have lots of good history of:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_Man

And the main site is:
www.burningman.com

If you're never been, it goes on for a week and is worth checking out at least once in your life. If you have any questions (or are planning to head out next year), feel free to ping me off RPF at:

I did some new test fits of the entire armour last night, the main problem for me has been the feet but I've fixed this now. I'll post up pics tomorrow. The problem I've had was the shin plates as they kept jumping inside the feet / shoes when I was walking and then started clanking. But now I've got this sorted with a wall of fitted foam which I'm spraying up Pepper red to match, I'll show pics of the feet with the foam on before I paint and also afterwards witht he lower leg and shins over.

The second thing I'm going to show is the new belt system with snaps I have for the upper legs, I've no longer got the long straps going over the shoulders as these pulled me down in my upper body and now I can walk easier and feel free weight wise on my top half.

It's a brilliant suit, it just needs tinkering here and there so it's wearable with ease :cool

Looking forward to seeing your mods Steve.
One thing with the new sculpt is that we also retooled the boots they are now a thad higher and alos the issue you reffer to should be resolved. ;)

Re: TMP Iron Man Costume. NEW 2009 armor update 10 sept.2009 page 114

The Ebay light was just a slightly smaller diameter than the opening in the TMP chestplate. But the light has a nice channel grooved on the side all the way around the outside edge of the light. So what I did was use the existing white piece of plastic that TMP had placed there in the chestplate and slowly cut it into a circle where it perfectly fit into the groove on the edge of the light. Then I just used black paint to cover up the white of the plastic piece you'd see from the front and it blends in well enough. Then a little hotglue and duct tape to hold it to the inside of the armor.

The light was available in both blue or white lights. I chose white because it was more movie accurate, but in some pictures it still creates a semi-blue tint which looks great.

Ok, a few shots to add to the bag :)

I've layered up some foam and sculpted to shape with an electric bread knife ;)

Feet.jpg

The legs now fit snug over the foam and the lower shins don't pop inside the shoes anymore as the foam stops this.
I've also added stretchy elastic on the inside of the shin plates at the back to keep them in place but allow movement of about an inch or so.

Boots.jpg

My gloves, I thought I'd take a few pics as people have asked me to show them, simple black leather men's gloves and sprayed up with automotive paint, the exact paint TMP uses to paint the suit, Ford Pepper RED here in the UK.

A few random me shots as I did a walk about and test fit before this weekends troop, please ignore the extra velcro hanging off as I'm removing that.

I also have a Pepper red Under suit with built in hood , I got this off Ebay.

Re: TMP Iron Man Costume. NEW 2009 armor update 10 sept.2009 page 114

Good to se how you moved some parts to align your body type. The gaps are far less now than previouse. also seeing the helmet working good for you.

One constructive advice:
add some foam on the top back of head so the helmet is lifted a bit more up on the back and straigher on the front. It will give you far better visbility by looking down without your head having to do that. This saves your neck allot on events. Otherwise you be stiff as hell in shorter time. Less you use your head the better it is.
:thumbsup

Another tip for the eyes you should try out is to take a Reflective "sticker" arround the eyes (similar to car signs that reflect light)
If you put this arround the rim the eyes will reflect ON PHOTOS! This is very cool for those who take photo of you because the photos will appear that the lights Brightly shine when blitz it used. It has a cool effect if you dont plan to lighten up the eyes. It will also easier define the eyes in photos as well. :D

There appear to be different versions of the TMP costume being posted, so it's getting hard to track which is which.

Is RoboSteve's and Mr Fett's the latest or an earlier version?

This is one of the earlier suits Mac, but it's got a V8 Helmet. Just so people know.

I'm not sure what version mine is. The original owner received his in April of this year if that helps. I know it has the version 7 helmet.
