T'is the season! Luke's Holiday Special lightsaber!

I feel like they cut down the Graflite endcap to the tapered part and just jammed it in there.

I wanted to do this, but looking at the plug I don’t think it’s possible.. there is also a huge valley in the end cap which I don’t see on the bottom of the holiday special

I wanted to do this mostly because of the graflex name on the bottom of the cap

Don’t forget they fabricated these shrouds, which takes longer to make by hand then cutting the end off some round stock

Couple of quick notes about the end cap.

We can’t jam it in as it is the same size as the outside of the main flash tube.

And not all the bottom caps have the huge slot. I’ve got two variations and one of them only has a tripod screw mounting hole.

I was thinking, what if the bit holding the belt clip ring (what people are using the keyring part for) was a camera part akin to a sling lug - something 1/4-20 threaded (tripod threading) that they found in the boxes of old camera equipment. Maybe even screwed into another camera part that was jammed into the end of the graphlite? Plenty of slave flashes have a similar threaded connection on the end. Until the previous post I thought maybe the graphlite cap itself but looks like that's not the case if there's not enough there to turn down.

Oh man!! The one on the right would work perfect!! All 3 of mine have the slot. I should defiantly sand it down until it fit if I had one like that!! That’s exactly what I want

This is what I mean-- mine all have the tripod mount.

I'm definitely in for this bottom cap. However, I would suggest modeling it after the actual graflite cap instead of the graflex bottom stamping. If possible of course :D

I think I completely missed something, was that red lamp identified ages ago? Am I late?
