T'is the season! Luke's Holiday Special lightsaber!

If you would have told me I'd have a Graflite based HS before ever getting a real MPP I would have never believed it.

OH what about also a paint stencil for the black painted bit beneath the shroud.
I kind of assumed I'd do that in black vinyl like the arrows so they match.
So what you could to is stick the whole thing on and then if you want black vinyl, just peel off the border. If you want it painted, peel off the rectangle, leaving the border, then mask off and paint. Dual purpose.

the set screw that I'm seeing. I know the bottom two are Trent's but you can clearly see it in the picture he is comparing it to. I adjusted the levels to make it a bit clearer that its there

I'm pretty sure that's just a photo artifact. It's in line with the grip rather than between them so I doubt that's a set screw. Danny just did that on mine because he likes mechanical assembly better than glue (I agree).

Question: I’ve noticed that L-shaped metal piece coming out of the bulb holder in the reference photos, as well as some builds of this saber. My Graflite didn’t come with one, and I’m not seeing any indication of it after a cursory search for photos and info on the flash handle. An original part of the flash, or a custom part?

Original. It's the bulb contact. you have to remove it, bend it, flip it, and put it back in.

Oh, okay! That makes perfect sense! I have yet to disassemble my flash, since I need to buy a good degreaser, first. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply guys. Trent those end caps look gorgeous!!

I don’t see any set screws I only added a set screw because I like mechanical attachment encase it has to be removed down the line

There is nothing even with these grips, they are all over the place. If one wanted they could cover each set screw with a grip. I took a little liberty and let it stay exposed on one

For the endcap I think they just put a piece of wood in there: much simpler to do than machine down a piece of old, black plastic.

Considering how cheaply down the rest of the prop and show looks, that's what they may have done.

I just can’t stop thinking about how happy all those ebay sellers who’ve spent years trying to push off Graflites for Graflex prices are going to be in the coming days as this gathers steam.

Glad I’ve had a few in a box for years! I always end up with one when I buy a lot with something else in it.

I was thinking the same thing. A seller of camera parts had like 10 or so available and I think he sold out. He seemed so happy when I asked him a question lol
