Tip on making a mannequin more realistic

I am treading into somewhat uncharted waters in the next few months, and mainly I am hoping to mod out a mannequin to make the build a lot more "human".

Mannequins tend to be pretty damned skinny, and have slightly disfigured necks, legs, abs, etc.

I was thinking a combo of fiberfill, saran wrap, and duct tape to "bulk up" the areas that need tweaking (think skintight batman comic style costume), but I am a little stumped on tweaking the ab area or the lats.

I know people have modified their mannequins for various reasons and costumes, but does anyone have any tips or tricks to share with the rest of us? The object is to make the mannequin look more like a muscle suit, without the worry of adding a layer of spandex or too much bulk. Sort of what Routh wore in Superman Returns, where it just added to his arms, shoulders, etc.

Any tips are greatly welcomed!

Hey Hydin,

Here's something that may help you.. Get some half inch mattress or furniture foam... and you can cut it and shape it to the shapes in the below pictures. It won't exactly look like a six pack.. but it should work pretty damn well.

If you want to go more elaborate.. you could also get a latex muscle suit (usually used in batman armor) and put that under the spandex suit that'll really make the muscles pop.

I've included pictures of the spiderman muscle suit which consisted of a bunch of latex pieces put together.. I don't think you can really do the same with foam.. but you can try.

Good luck... (oh and.. any updates on my crystal order? hee hee)
