Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Sometimes you got to charge more for the first several items to make back the money in raw materials. After that you can lower the prices to meet affordability. Also you have to price your items at what the market tells you too. Unfortunately many overseas sellers are reducing the quality while reducing the prices to near "cheap" prices. If you ask me it destroys our business for those that are "die hard" costumers that look for accuracy.

For example. To make my MH ribbon pin it has taken me almost two months to hunt down a seller for the black diamond ribbon. I also spend over $100.00 on ribbon spools because some places that sell By The Yard did not have the color or width required. So what do we do? We go crazy and invest in raw materials hoping we can break even with selling product. By the way the black diamond ribbon is only available WHOLESALE at least form what my research has shown me and I don't want to buy 15 yards of ribbon for $65.00!!! That is insane..........but I never claimed to be sane!

Didn't add the "o" for the toggle clasp yet...But here I am so far for the front. I couldn't get any pics to come out of me bum. I mean! Back! Yeah....Back. ;)

Few things I still need to do. Cut a new chain that connects the front to back. Mine isn't big enough. Then, I need to cut some wire to connect the two strands of ball chain into one peice. I also need to add the single "connector link" that UM spotted. And I need to soak my poor hands! :lol :p ;)

And shave!:lol

The over the shoulder chain is mighty big. Any reason for that style of chain or is that thingie made up of keyrings?

But isn't it nice to finish and wear what you made?

Want to respool my thread for me?

No way, it took forever to grow that! :lol :p ;)

It was what I had for the shoulder. LOL. Forgot to mention that. I couldn't find anything like it yesterday. And then I couldn't remember what the SDCC back chain looked like. :lol

And as a matter of fact, I still can't decide what I want to do with the back. What did you use for it? And I can't find any large toggle clasps either. And you know what? I forgot something. The toggle clasp chain that hangs. :lol :lol :lol I guess I'll go do that. :lol

And that's another thing. Put all the MH pics I had on a flash drive, put them on my laptop...And about 25 of the files didn't transfer. They all are just little blurs. Sooooo...Couldn't work with them all. :(

EDIT - And aye! I've never made anything I enjoyed so much! :D

I am going to mod the bottom part of the chain to a ring that will attach to the large ring on the back.

The back chain is just a smaller size link chain that is doubled up.

Awesome, I couldn't decide if I wanted to use this little tiny ball chain for the back or regular chain. Although in the one SDCC picture, I think it looks like completly diffrent chain. (It proboly is, lol.)

I also opted for the one toggle claso at the top as apose to two. I had the peice in my hand and I began to think about it falling completly off and being screwed. So I decided to leave it be. :lol

There is a toggle at the end of the zoot suit chain. The zoot suit chain as I call it links through the end of the thread chains and dangles about a foot.

Aye, something like this :

Which brings up another thing. I couldn't decide on the zoot chain either, so I bought the ball chain. (Which may end up being my back chain. LOL.) I decided after looking at El Capitan pictures, the chain looked like ball chain the photos. How the light reflects of it and stuff.

So I decided I'd just buy it anyway. But like I said, it may end up being my back chain. Because I think it resembles the "braided" look when it is next to each other. Which could be easily done with that metal jewelery wire.

Having said that, do you think the zoot chain is the same as the back/front connecting chain on the original? :lol I have some of each still, so I can change, exchange, and take back just about evrything I have. I kept the packages and stuff to. I've got enough to do an enire 'nuther bandloier. So I'm not running low or anything. I can change it all out.

I need to take you guys shopping next time I go. :lol

I was originally going to use the ball chain too and bought about 5 feet but eventually went with link chain. Smaller links compared to the chain used on the thread spools.

I think yours is fine. Don't want to go too much in debt buying chain like I did! I have about 10 feet leftover from all sorts of styles that I bought from Michaels and OSH hardware!

Chain debt is a Mad Hatter sickness then. :lol :D

I did keep all my receipts though, just in case. LOL.
