Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

I have a ton of those pins, though i choose to leave it off the ring cause when its on there i cant get into my pocket

i plan on hiding some under my Lapel and a regular sewing needle too, im also hiding a small spool of white thread on my costume and working on a prototype scissor case so that way i can make repairs to any costume at any given time

(though mostly its for the Marina Dress)

I dunno if you guys have seen it yet or not but there is a costume featurette on Facebook that FINALLY explains how the coat was done, turns out its not leather at all, the whole thing is silk!

Well it does make sense that things of his gets burned. Remember the movie? For those of you that haven't seen it you will understand after the fact!!!

Remember his hat was burned to especially the fade in from smoldering hat areas to the gold thread!!!!:love

So scraps of coat could theoretically be glued to your existing coat and than certain areas burned off little here and a little there!

I think all of the costumes that everyone is working on/ finished look great, keep the pictures coming.

Also I saw the film on Saturday and just fell in love with the Coat that Alice wears at the end of the film, so I am currently working on that.

For the hat scarf, about how long is everyone here using on theirs and are you double wrapping around the hat or just once around?

I think I have nailed down a decent lace pattern for the hat... What would be the best file format for laser-cutting it?:)
Because I want to give it to you all, but I want to know what would be the best format first:)

Does this version of this movie just freak anybody else out? i mean i like the book and the cartoon but Tim Burton's touch just seemed to have ruined everything

Honestly, it doesn't freak me out in the least. It is the least "Burton" looking of his films. (I hate that his name is used as an adjective.) Aesthetically, it doesn't match anything people attribute to his "look." It just so happens to be also playing with proportion very boldly, and is also very expressionistic.

Did you create the template in Adobe Illustrator? Probably in TIF would be the best although it will be rather large.:love

Actualy i find him really funny and exactly like how i imagined him when reading the books
if anything Johnny did a Marvelous job and Tim's directing is unmatched as as always

Just throwing this out there,
Saw it with the parents tonight and they LOVED it. My mom was VERY upset at the end though because " they should've fallen in love and kissed!!! he deserved some happiness!! she should've rejected the other guy 'cause she found TRUE love!! "

:D Hehehehe!

For some reason she keeps bugging me to make Travis a blue coat even though he says he doesn't want one because he 'will never wear it' ... BAH. He's getting one anyways! >D

Anyone have pics of this Hot Topic hat I keep reading about. Is it the black lace one they had last year or is it a real Hatter style one? I'd like to see what it is.
