Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Just goes to show you that guys are more sharing, caring, and kinder than women!

BWAAAAAAAAA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Did I just type that? No really! Did I?

Jodo - Hatter Of The Corn

Well, I understand not wanting to share but then why join a costume replica discussion board?

:confused

*shrugs*

S'alright, I'm sure I'll manage. :$

Well Ms. Vision of Crimson! We Hatters will help out where we can. I do know many of our fellow members at cosplay.com have also completed their White Queenie with some rather successful results. I have found my fellow cosplay.commers to be rather friendly and helpful! Of course most of them are here too so I just don't know.

This by far being one of the best ones:

Here is the link to the search "Mirana"

Also in the Other Costumes thread someone had posted a link to a blog in which the woman was making Alice dresses and Mirana. Her blog was quite detailed. Sorry I don't have the link.

I'm sure you already know about this:

Thanks! :) Yup, I'm on Cosplay.com too and checked out who else had done the costume. I am actually Facebook friends with Arielle (the first link), she didn't make the gown though rather her friend 'Lisa' did.

On the 'Other Costumes' thread, which forum is that in? I'll hunt it down. :) Thanks for the heads up abou it!

Edited to add: Nevermind; found the 'Other Costumes' thread. Thanks!

SHOUT OUT TO KELIKALA!!! Thanks so much for the spools! Just put them together and its begining to look real cool! Imma make it look awesome as soon as I get those toggle clasps!

So where do I get that blue and white and red strip of fabric to put atop my tophat hhhmmmm??? I dont want to put a bunch of ribbon strips together... I cant make that look seamless... Any advice?

Well the actual ribbon on the hero hat is multiple pieces of ribbon layered ontop of one another. Since you are not going for the screen accurate look I would find some fabric you like and add it to the hat. Gives your hat a more personalized look to it. Check out JoAnns material area. Plenty to choose from.

Mine is made up of multiple ribbons and it seems fairly seamless. Just layered and ironed together using Iron Bond tape.

I just don't want to waste all that ribbon because JoAnn's only sells by the yard and I only need a few inches... What a wast of money!!! Well maybe I can use that stuff for my pin ribbon... I dunno...

CV,

I just checked out your site and you are doing great work. Can't wait to see more.

:love Thanks!

For my first contribution, an article with Colleen Atwood I found last night while trying to decide if Mirana's hair was white or actually platinum blonde. While the article does say 'snow white tresses' I think the fact that they mention it's a real human hair wig as well as the accompanying picture on that page is making me lean towards the lightest platinum blonde wig I can find.

The article is a fun read for anyone interested in any of the main character's costumes so I thought I'd share.

Now to find a lace front platinum blonde wig that isn't going to break the bank... :eek

id say platinum blonde
if if was white it would probably look bad

as for finding one with a front lace, you probably wont. most front lace wigs are either ghetto wigs, or hand made
and i dont think your about to drop 300 bucks on someone to hand lace you a wig

hell i would to get the perfect orange yak hair, but i dont has that kinds of munnys

SP, are you always this negative? :confused You've replied twice pretty much telling me not to bother even trying something. :unsure

I'm perfectly willing to pay several hundred for the perfect wig; I was more talking several thousand I've seen lace front human hair wigs go for. For a point of reference; the custom ostrich feather boas on my Pink Diamonds costume from Moulin Rouge (in my sig the far right) cost about $2000 for me to purchase.

I like to do things right. :love

OK when you said you didn't want to spend too much money I didn't know you meant no to exceed $200.00 so that opens up many doors of opportunity for you to find the real stuff.

I go for budget but looks good items so I cannot be much more help I guess....

My apologies for not being more clear on my budget. :rolleyes Of course I try and get the best price on materials and accessories but I'm willing to pay more for it to look really good.

Plus add to the fact I had to take last year off from costuming (was Queen for my medieval reenactment group) I'm really wanting to do some well done costumes for Dcon this year!
