Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Costumes

Okay, sorry I've been MIA... The UM fabric I talked about got sold, but they told me that they ordered a new bolt and I'll be going in tomorrow to get a pic for whoever needs it :)

Just a quick dress up after the ribbons and jacket is done!

Looks great ! Maybe you're already planning to, but I'd recommend pulling the buttons off and putting them closer to the hem on the one side to make it a little more SA and a little less like a store bought and altered jacket. :)

on another note, jw, is anyone planning on making the hatters suspenders? ... or does anyone have a picture of them? i cant remember if i saved it or not...but i dont think i did and now i cant remember what they look like for future reference! thanks!

I was thinking about it... but it's an old jacket from the 70's and made of suede and where the buttons are... if I cut them off and moved them in... there would be holes where they used to be... :-/
Im very happy with how it came out though... it used to be down to my calves! haha

id like to find some like Hatter Aelynn
but you never see them so its no real big deal
the ones i have on my pants have playing cards on them
my mom got them for me a while ago
i think they are appropriate ^^

I'm making them, but I won't be much help since our scales are different. :unsure But I do have a picture of part of them:

I have to go back over the Blu-Ray features again, so if I come across more pics of them, I'll post them. :)

The Blu Ray feature does not show any more of the braces/suspenders unfortunately. While searching for the materials to make my own I stumbled across this fabric: 1.33 yard - Silky print fabric - Large Red Roses on black background It looks like it might be similiar, but it's hard to tell thanks to angle of the pants in the screencap. Maybe cover existing suspenders in a similiar fabric? :confused

wow that print is almost perfect if it were smaller! one of those roses would pretty much take up the width of the suspender. boooo. but nice find anyways!

There are ready made 100% silk rose print suspenders out there but you just need to find them. I found a set but the rose print is just in plain black on the silk. I just need to "paint the roses red" but at a later time. No one will see them for now underneath the vest and coat.

Representing AiW at Dragon*Con 2010! A few of my gold hearts fell off the underskirt, but I had only hastily tacked them on right before D*C and can easily make more. I also made a new partlet and got it wearable the night before the convention while my friend was finishing armored Alice and other costumes. I like the collar on this one much better than the collar on my original partlet. The clown white lite worked great, and I finally figured out that if I cover my neck too I don't look quite so goofy. We should be wearing these again at MegaCon (the first convention that I took Red Queen to and where she actually got a judge's favorite award; funny how the costume has evolved since then and should continue to evolve as I read these forums and work at my sewing) and D*Con next year.

We had a great time and found a lot of other AiW costumers- I'll have to see if I can dig up any photos, because there were some spectacular Hatters, several different versions of Alice, lovely White Queens, and great Red Queens (one airbrushed the pattern on her overskirt fabric, and it looked awesome).

Hi everybody,
I am new here so please bare with me... :)
I saw those photo's of the Hatter costume at Comic Con. But I am not at all familiar with that organisation. Do they show original pieces, or replica's, made to put on a tour so people can see them?
Cause there are a lot of inconsistancies between that Comic con outfit and the one Depp wears on the official movieshots.

Like I said, I am new to this forum and I would like to start by trying helping out some people. I have a buch of those yellow flower pins, for on the pincushion-ring If you need one of these I can send it to you for just the postal costs (mind: I do live in Holland)

I also found some very nice lightblue trim, like in the topseam of Alice's blue dress. Those little blue loops, where a white cord is pulled through, for cost price. For who is interrested , you can mail me, or leave a message :)

I love your costume! It looks fantastic. The pig is the perfect accessory. :)

Rabbit Hole update!

The skirts are done-I won't say I know how to embroider now, but I sure can fake it :)

The boots were done a while ago, the gloves I just finished this morning.

The bodice is cut and nearly put together-I'm debating if I want to add the sheer small netting under the lace for SA, or skip it as it's not that obvious.

My latest challenge is that I have the SA buttons, but they are looking too small once their put with the bodice.
:(

I get that Mia is 5'4" so the scale on someone that is 5'8" could be adjusted slightly.

So here's the original SA size button, and with it the SA button on top of a plain black button.

I'm thinking it won't hurt the SA of it too much by doing the double button-thoughts?

The other option is to buy more of the SA buttons in a larger, non SA size-

OOOOH DOGGY,

its getting close.may have this puppy back at the house this coming monday.
gonna go and pick up 8.5 yards of the perfect fabric tomorrow!!
so happy that this will come to fruition !!

Enjoy!!
