Re: Just What This Forum Needs: Another Ironman Build
8% is a lot Shaun! Trust me as it's about the diff between the Suckface and the fingead helmet both coming from "the files"
You're probably right, but I'm still doing it. When I tried it on, the first helmet was way too snug to make sense once I cast it in anything else. Plus, when I lined it up on top of the CNC'ed chest it looked comically tiny.
At a glance, the new, bigger helmet will be barely half an inch wider. The faceplate was finished this morning and by arranging the slices of the helmet a bit smarter in the build tray, Jarvis is working on three of the eight helmet parts right now.
I neglected to take pictures, but I assembled the first full set of arm parts from Lopez this morning. It all looks good, but compared to the chest (which I built to 100% scale) the arms (which are 85% scale to fit my measurements better) look way to small.
So the 100% arms are way too big for me and the 85% arms are way too small for the chest. Now I'm re-sizing the arms at 90% and the chest at 95%. That should work perfectly. I have to do an in-between somewhere since there's no way I can make the waist and pelvis any smaller than 100% and still expect them to fit.
It all makes me very happy that I'm cutting the big parts out of relatively inexpensive materials. Especially since I seem to be making the full Goldilocks version of this build.
"This build is too big... This build is too small... This build is
just right."
I'm on my way back out to the workshop in a bit to set Lopez up to crank out the "just right" size for the arm. I'll snap some pics of the too-small one when I'm there.
