Well I thought about it all day yesterday, and even tho the software route seems dead, I still want my tricorder to play some Star Trek. I want to control the playback with my phaser, and have the audio output go to my communicator. I can think of a few different ways to do this, so today im going to figure out the how, decide on the what, and order everything ill need.
In words of Henry Ford, “Impossible means that you haven't found a solution yet.”Well lookie there…..a bit of access providing the hood has a hole all the way through….wada you think?

No luck - according to some reddit threads asking if possible, its not possible. Emulators for other stuff exist though, so it cant be impossible.Any luck running the firmware on an emulator? (If, purely hypothetically, someone like you just happened to have a copy lying around to test…)![]()

Yea that hole coming from the left would be big enough. The opening in the plastic pivot connector piece is about the diameter of a standard bic pen.Well lookie there…..a bit of access providing the hood has a hole all the way through….wada you think?

What is stopping you from just enlarging the hole to the required size?Yea that hole coming from the left would be big enough. The opening in the plastic pivot connector piece is about the diameter of a standard bic pen.
I think I need my ribbon cable to come down the right side with all the other wires tho![]()
I don’t think most folks would take kindly to losing the lower compartment real estate.
The hole in the aluminum holds a plastic hinge sleeve thingy that the wires go thru. Any wire leaving the activities unit must go thru that hole or maybe the hole on the other one on the other side. If any wire or ribbon cable tries to leave the hood without going thru one of those 2 holes, it will be seen and probably screw up the opening/closing. MUST use those holes or forget the whole enterprise.
