The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

This is a tough question. LOL If this kind of moire was seen anywhere else on the show actually moving, but it never was to my knowledge.
But I guess you can spin the outer window until it goes the direction you want.

Aside from the Moire issue……….what was happening to cause an erratic wave?

Is that particular feature on the right Tricorder erratic like that all the time?

“Looped”? Somewhere, I read or heard that Wand used M-JEPG (MJPEG) format to do the animation’s including the Edith Keeler clip….. M standing for Motion. Am I correct?
Looping just means the animation seamlessly repeats. As for format, Stockdale didn't specify, he just said they pulled the frames, cleaned them up, and looped them.

From the Wand Blog …. Update #20

I was (pleasantly) surprised to see the “Archive” footage from “City on the Edge of Forever” are not merely static photo images, but are animated images. Are these video files, or something like a gif file – ie what is the file format for these animations?

Thank you. The format is mjpeg rather than an mpeg. This works very well for us and the processor is fast enough to serve up the images one after the other at a good frame rate, but this method is not so go for syncing sound, so it is good that the clip doesn’t require that.

Thanks for that info! Already thinking about modding, since it appears the sd reader is still built into the Tricorder. So is helpful to know the file formats the Tricorder is currently capable of handling.

From the Goooog….

“Mjpeg is Motion JPEG format, so there are only JPEG pictures , no audio.
If you want audio, we suggest MPEG4 , or H.264”

;)

I think there was post somewhere where Chris mentioned that they couldn't get the fine lines on the med display to resolve on the 320 x 240 screen, so they dropped it.
Once Team “Tri-clone” here secures total domination of the hardware and software, a convincing med-screen facsimile is doable. The resolution won’t be great but it will look fine from my house :p

So I’m watching A Taste of Armageddon…. So there’s a brawl and Spock and company acquire Eminiar’s security guards …….uniforms, disrupters, and one of the Eminiar's communicators that folds in half like the ST communicators.

My laughter comes from what appears to be a “Wooden” communicator, imo, …being held by Spock. After speaking to Scotty…he closes the Eminiar guard’s communicator and it even sounds like two pieces of wood hitting each other.

This is first I’ve ever noticed……

Desilu….ya got to give ‘em some props……for their props

The same prop reappears in Errand of Mercy and Elaan of Troyius.
