The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

Notice what the door might have looked like, had extra effort been given to design it so that the rod isn’t seen and covered to prevent bowing, also giving it what would probably be the correct pivotation without klugey pieces, so that the door opens to perfect 90deg and easily closes back….

Such a cleaner look………..

Why Wand….Why? WAHhhhhhhhhhhhh……. :)View attachment 1954117
Is that yours or a computer image of what it should have been?

THIS DOOR LOOKS LIKE FRAKING HELL! I’m going to go over this piece of junk millimeter by millimeter and IF I FIND ONE MORE FLAW…
I’m chucking it in the trash!

Trash? But you’ve waited 5 years for a flawed free perfect product….welp suit yourself.

 I don’t think you have enough arrows……

By the way …. Is that a Borg Magnifier?

Your absolutely right! The door has been beaten to death..R.I.P……what’s next I wonder

I don't know about anyone else, but mine has a stupid plastic film over the screen! I can see where it actually touches the screen.

What was Wand Co. thinking!

I think I've worked out why adding super glue to my door worked.
Ideally a perfect door would have a smooth curve by the hinge but due to the molding most have a bit of excess plastic which jams things up a bit.
When I sanded mine it pivoted smooth but wouldn't lock in place.
A slight modification to the design would help make it so the door locks in place. It's basically what the super glue ended up doing.
Start of with a smooth curve then extend it slightly and end up at a flat section. When opening it will go smooth up until where it starts bulging then a bit of force will snap it to the flat section which will act to hold it in place. I've done a sketch to show the differences. The dotted line shows the original profile.

Ruh Roh …I want my gap…where’s my gap….Wand the gap?

It added character on the Heros….i believe it defined conceptually where the discs would only go to be read …the gap distinguishes the far right disc position for reading discs ..imo.

With Wand…it’s Eeny, meeny, miny, moe…...until you read the instructions.

I hadn’t noticed that the hinge rod is visible. I think what I’ll do is use a gun blueing solution on it. That will blacken the metal rod without adding the thickness that a coat of paint would on the rod.
