The tariff situation
The US tariffs on bulk shipments of products from China have been changing rapidly over the last few months, starting with 10% announced in February and reaching 145% on April 10th. If those tariffs reduce to a more manageable level we will review the situation regarding importing the product in bulk to the US for sale domestically (such as via Amazon US) and take the appropriate action.

US tariffs on small packages to individual consumers with value under $800 USD (“de minimis” shipments) have also been in flux recently. At the moment they are scheduled to become 120% on May 2nd, or a flat fee of $100 USD, but it’s unclear which of those fees will be charged. It’s also possible that the changes due on May 2nd will be amended or postponed.

Sorry to cause confusion and upset. We said "at least" a week. I know some folks took that to mean a week... but it meant at least a week and likely longer. Today there were only 500 pieces of stock where they should be despite us putting nearly 1,000 pieces into Amazon a week ago. We decided against sending out an email on Friday afternoon of a bank holiday weekend in the UK, after the tsunami of customer service emails we got with our last explanatory letter, which took all weekend and then so to reply to.

Early next week we will look at the stock levels and see about sending out the second email.

Latest…..

Not in the clear yet…..USPS may say I owe tariffs 120% or $100….possibly per item since I bought 2. Although it was customs cleared hours before May 2, 12:01am….and the shipping label reflecting it came from Amazon U.K. and not directly from PRC or Hong Kong.

A major scenario conundrum. Does one deny the tariffs and acceptance and say send it back, for a Amazon UK refund..only to wait for a cheaper day….or bite the dynamite stick and pay the tariffs….

I guess it depends how bad one wants it.

The Gentlemanly thing to do, would be to accept what you ordered and not possibly stick Wand Co. with shipping costs.

I assume that is what you are doing :)

Edit:

If it really hurts you feelings: total up your costs and put them up on the Bay of e as By it Now. I don't think you will have to wait long to get your money back. :D

The parcel cleared customs before the tariffs took effect, so you owe nothing. If we're to believe the posts from FaceBook, parcels are being rejected by customs and sent back--no one has yet said, to my knowledge, that they've been billed for the tariffs.

As for sticking them with shipping, I'm not at all sure that the shipping cost would be refunded to begin with. I think you'd just get back your purchase price and sales tax. Perhaps even with return shipping deducted--not sure about that part.

In any case, it doesn't look like CBP is presenting customers with the choice.

I was thinking that the TWC might have to pay return shipping, if the item is rejected. <shrug>
