The Walking Dead Season 9

When Daryl shoots one of the walkers with a crossbow I just thought to myself, why didn't he just have Lydia hang out and tell him which one is Beta and shoot him instead of picking off some random walker?

It would have been much easier

Ok I haven't watched any of these since it came back on and I've been waiting to catch up. So I stopped at my mom and dad's and my dad has been watching them every week. Now he says they barely have any guns and some people are using black powder rifles. I'm really thinking this might be it for me. They either have zero clue on how many guns, how much ammo, and how much reloading supplies are all over the U.S., or they are purposely trying to handicap them. You'd have plenty of guns, ammo, and supplies for years!

But, they're not all over the United States. At this point it's been about ten years since the ZA. Don't you think most things would have been pillaged by now?

I dunno, at this point it is really hard for me to guage whether the show is good or not. I just know it is ten times better than the last two seasons. That was the longest drawn out wreck of television since LOST.

Exactly, I don’t get this anymore.... then the 20ft fall in the elevator shaft and he lives.. this stuff is getting old

I now watch this show just for comical relief

I am really disappointed with alpha..

Yup exactly! I think they are moving away from the guns because they need to level the playing field since the whispers only use knifes and bow & arrow

We see our hero’s using Spears and bows now... have they forgotten Eugene was making thousands of rounds for Negan?

The writing has just gone down the tubes horribly fast.. I can’t see another season happening

If they have alpha kill off the same characters on the show like she did in the books, I’m all set.. I basically only watch it now for a certain pretty woman..

But, it has been six years since Eugene was making all those bullets, and we have no idea yet what went on during those years. Maybe they used up all the bullets. Are the ingredients for gun powder that easy to come by?

Maybe that is the problem they are slowly running out of powders... I’ll use that excuse lol

After watching Talking Dead, I just want one thing to be cleared up. Namely, are we absolutely certain Beta is not one of The Oak Ridge Boys?

The...Oak Ridge Boys?

*checks calendar*

Yup! Still 2019. Just had to make sure for a second.

Kingdom has got to go. They convinced that group to join them because they have a movie theater? Wha? I mainly fast-forward through the Kingdom scenes now.

I actually thought that was a pretty cool plot point. Think about it, not only are you in a zombie apocalypse, you've gone almost an entire decade without a phone, computer, television, radio, etc. I would think watching a movie would be like gold. Hell, half the world went nuts yesterday when Instagram and Facebook went down for an hour or so. If I was the Highwaymen, I would probably want to watch a movie, too.

I got so tired of this show just being about "every new group will be inherently EVIL!" I think it was a pretty cool idea.

The "Hey you wanna see a movie?" was just something used to reveal humanity, commonality, and to show us that Carol isn't always just killing people. That she can also recruit them, especially now that she is a "queen" so to speak, I think it was important for the writers and the actress herself to do somehting more than just be a wrecking ball all the time. As much as I like the "light people on fire for messing with my son" Carol. Hahaha.

I'm going to miss the relationship between Beta and Negan from the comics. Now that they are going a very different route with both characters. I knew it would be different, but man those two had a couple scenes that cracked me up in the comics.

As for guns and bullets, reloading supplies, etc, I made the same points in the season 7, and season 8 threads here that anybody remotely connected with the real life gun community would know that every other garage or basement in most small towns probably has a reloading machine of some kind, supplies to feed it, and a country with hundreds of millions of guns, well, they aren't going to run out. But it's a show about the undead, I do not expect reality here. Ya know? :) Making gunpowder from scratch, well, we do it. Lots of folks know how to. I think there would be plenty of that going on, like there has been for hundreds of years. The producers of the show are just consciously moving away from guns, because, well, because they want to. I think they want to do something more primitive.

With only 3 more episodes in the season, I don't expect the narrative status quo to change much. The season will probably end with the festive going on and if that's anything like the comics, it kicks off a much bigger storyline. Guess we'll see.

I really enjoyed that last episode. Really nice to see a plot start, develop, and be resolved in one episode. A year or so ago that 'evil kid' plot would've been stretched out at least five episodes or more.

Does anyone else “fear” alpha? Like when I see her on screen she doesn’t do anything for me?

I’m not afraid, I’m not worried, I’m not turned on?

Where the heck is this going? I’m so lost?

Capture hero, let hero’s go, let Daryl see walkers.. let him go?

I don’t get this anymore?

The first and second appearance of Negan I was like “holy damn!! This guy is bad!!!”

Granted there was a lot of episodes where Negan was a joke, but him walking down the halls or in the yard and the saviors kneeling for him again, “this guy is bad!!!”

With alpha all I really was shocked at was letting the baby get eaten at hill top.. and that didn’t make sense because of alpha was so heartless why is she knocking on the door to get her daughter

Just let the daughter go?

I also didn’t feel anything with the “sticky scene...

It’s not that I’m losing interest, every episode I hope it turns around, I just can’t get into this

Is there something wrong with me?

I was waiting to see the comments on here regarding the end of last nights TWD. I was kinda shocked and mad at the same time. We shall see what next weeks finale brings us.

When Alpha sat next to Lydia in the theatre that was when she finally scared the **** out of me. That scene alone shows why the show is so lucky to have someone like Samantha Morton play her. She was terrifying! And if that final scene with the pikes didnt absolutely break your heart, then I dunno. Might want to talk to someone about that. On a more positive note, though, how badass was the scene where all the captives are getting ready to fight? Especially Enid, how she shakes her hair back, then posts up and gets ready to fight. #JSS
