Thank you Gothic! This should defiantly help me in my build!
The shirt that Rick actually wears is a two tone Tan/Brown. The shirt is the exact one from the tv show and is used by security and police in mostly America.

I searched for this shirt to see if it was available in the UK and had no luck. I deliberately didn't order it from America because I know about the import tax which would have been around £18 so I wasn't going to add that to my expenses as I said before Im doing this on a budget. I thought I have to find something that is easily accessible to me as I'm in the UK. I searched high and low and found one that was easily to get hold, cheap and was good enough for me. The shirt I went with was an X British Army FAD short sleeve shirt. I picked the shirt up for £8 in my nearest local town which was really handy and easy. The shirt doesn't have the brown pockets/shoulder straps but it will do as I will fix this later. image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

didn't realise you were in the uk just did a general search, personally I would buy identical tan and brown shirt a nick the epaulets and pocket flaps off the brown one

Hi guys back today with a couple of updates on the costume! I should have probably followed your advice Gothic! Any way I didn't take your advice sadly and wanted to make my life easy so I decided to paint the pockets instead from making my own fabric paint! I did this by mixing PVA, Brown Acrylic and Shaving Foam as I already had these things. Check out the videos bellow!

I was surprised that it worked to be honest! Over all I am very happy how the shirt is looking! 14215654_1112324582154855_345017656_o.jpg14247896_1112324738821506_1649047663_o.jpg14248030_1112324725488174_1599063493_o.jpg14285001_1112324445488202_104738729_o.jpg14285043_1112324695488177_1840884869_o.jpg14285415_1112324758821504_1875768373_o.jpg

Thank you guys! Much appreciated! New exciting update for you all today. The next part of the costume that I am going to be adding is ricks name badge. I noticed that on Ricks shirt he has the name tag/Badge saying 'Grimes'. I looked around and couldn't really find one for sale. I had a think and thought I am probably going to have to go to a custom badge making company... I had a look and it was quite expensive and wasn't really something that I was after. In the end I found something that I thought would do the job! I'm actually quite impressed with the final product. You know those metal things that are put on and engraved on trophy's? You can actually get these made and engraved very cheaply and gives the same gold chrome effect like Ricks badge. I actually picked one up and ordered one on eBay with the name engraved for £2.25 which was great as I didn't have to splash out. I ordered the badge in gold and the size of the metal was 70 x 16mm with curved edges and is really quite a good representation of Ricks badge. I also sent them a picture of the size that I wanted the Text to be in a Helvetica font which is pretty close to the original. It arrived today and couldn't be more thrilled with it. To get in on the shirt taped a safety pin to the back of the badge. Overall I think the badge looks great! 14285268_1113204188733561_490383353_o.jpg14248031_1113203075400339_418766955_o.jpg14285773_1113203722066941_1993292453_o.jpg

Hi guys just a little update today on the costume. Went around town today in search of thing that I could use for my costume and came over something pretty cool which I thought I could use. This is probably the worst replica for the whole costume but I don't really mind as it was so cheap. I went into my local £1 shop and found a toy gun which I thought would do the job. In the uk we have laws sadly which means anything that resembles a gun/ replica and isn't in silly colours that shows it is a toy it is counted as illegal. I couldn't really walk around with a real colt python or replica without it being in a bright colour so I thought that this would do the job just fine... still looks pretty bad ass in my opinion. 14274488_1114219568632023_1763495238_o.jpg14249328_1114219545298692_682650830_n.jpg
