The Ultimate Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Real Vintage Parts Lightsaber Group

Along with the real Graflex clamp, I have a resin cast of the clamp, as well.

I've been out of the loop of late, so need a bit of "schooling"...

The clamp is covered by a metallic sticker, is it not...?

So...

Thoughts on actually using the original clamp (again, on a resin hybrid), which complicates the build? The real clamp lacks the "buttons" on the side, and the calculator bubble lens.

Suppose it might it be better to use the resin cast, under-coated in silver, with the metallic sticker material?

The resin cast also has the Browning part (albeit inaccurate) cast into it as a single piece...

Would love to see pics! ;)

Here are the parts I have.

This project has stopped and started at least a couple times, due to "analysis paralysis", and being unable to decide which parts to cobble together...

Personally I would use the white grenade with the chrome colored clamp and tap wheel. The rest looks off and requires way too much work.
Frankly the booster I would try and obtain another, the rest is too good to use the half arsed booster.
Failing that you could maybe cut it off from the Graflex clamp on the other one, try and make good and file the edges and use that one ?

Curious if anyone has ever molded genuine vintage parts to offer resin castings? I suppose these days most people would just 3D print the parts instead of going to all the trouble of molding and casting.

Hear ya!...

Have already thought about sourcing:
--Original booster (in league with this thread)
--Resin cast of a legit original
--Improving the yellow-cast resin booster I have

The white grenade I have has one small (BIG) problem - the 'post' or 'stalk' on which the wind vane attaches is askew from the molding/ casting process.

Ties in with what I just posted...

When I obtained the resin cast, it was WELL before 3D printing, and (again) I truly do not recall the source...

There is a concavity to the secondary ring of the emitter / engine part that suggests my cast(s) was not from an original part. Also, per timing, it MAY have been prior to the found-part discovery (retrospective kudos to the RPF, and the specific members who made the discoveries).
