I tried to make an NEC transistor fit snuggly inside my 'vintage' washer but it seems it's a tad bit to wide, oh and I knew it's height is not correct according to the original lightsaber either . . . so do we know which transistors or amps are good to use within the washers for our OB1 sabers?

I was gonna get bored and grind down the inside of a romans washer to see if that changed the height enough to make me happy for a standard transistor. But..............I haven't done it yet. If I do, for sure I'll post.

Apologies if this has been asked. Where are you guys finding the parts? If I search the grenade online all I find are replicas.

6Speed - mostly the junkyard here, but it often takes YEARS to track down all the parts involved.

Used to be you could find them at militaria collector's shows or websites. They all know who and what they want these specific grenades for now, so it is harder to find a lot of these parts "out in the wild".

So what's the correct term for the washers that go with the transistors? I can't seem to find any anywhere, so I don't think I'm using the correct word when I search for them.

They're just called recessed washers. I still have a bunch if you need some.

That's true, but you can still get lucky! I managed to find my grenade in the wild just a few months ago! I re weathered my russrep balance pipe today and made a new cone and reassembled the whole thing.

Not sure how I feel about the new cone yet, I have to rewatch the 4K stuff and get a better look again. I made two extras while I was at it, a classic cone and another of these stepped ones.

A combination of things! Some lathe work, some dremeling, sand blasting, flame and oil a few times, more sandblasting. It's a bit involved, but I really love how it worked!

Yes. I believe the MA is not concrete but just the best guess based on what might logically be found on a second line. But it’s still open to being anything really.

Whelp. I've done it. 4 months after joining this forum to work on a fairly basic Graflex ANH build, I was sucked into the Obi vortex. I figure dmaybe someday I'd get around to it. But that seemed like a long ways off. And then a nice offer to sell one to me came through.

And I'm halfway there. The numbered halfway there. More like 12 parsecs halfway (?).

I have a Roman's Balance Pipe and Booster on it's way and I opted for the FX Cage insert as it screws into the two pieces connected to it. But, I'm going to keep the Armitage Shanks pommel missing as I think that's the next easiest (haha easy) part to find. I knew I should've bought that recent one in the Junkyard. Stupid doubt in starting this.

I'd officially like to put myself out there for any group buys on the Booster or Balance Pipe that may appear. I'm sure the waiting list is long and more senior members have dibs but I guess it can't hurt to ask.

I have some Operational Amps headed my way as well and hopefully they work size-wise. I'll measure them and post the results here once they arrive. Also, I think my massive vintage d-ring score will be great for the d-ring so there's that too.
