The Ultimate Ben Obi-Wan Kenobi Real Vintage Parts Lightsaber Group

Forgive my noobly ignorance, but I still can't visually figure out how the pieces are supposed to fit together. I know the Graflex clamp has something to do with it, but it there something for the clamp to cover here? Is there some kind of central rod that everything slides onto and then is bolted tight with? I don't think I've ever seen any kind of manual for putting the pieces together. And it all looks like it's so fragile to handle, like pieces should just start falling off as soon as you pick it up.

If you look at this page from Roman's site, he shows how most people assemble the parts, whether they are vintage or replica.

Ive posted photos of mine too.

1 1/2" fender washers locked onto a threaded rod will technically work as clamp spacers too, if you dont use one of Romans cage or solid spacers (i used the Browning fladh hider)

Mine are put together very simply - a single M6 rod all the way through. I had some cones made - not very accurate when you see some others, which sit inside the balance pipe which are threaded and an M6 bolt under the AS handwheels cap. Seeing as they are static works for me and no modifications needed to any parts.

The grenade is more on the relic side of things but the booster is good. Big thanks to mugatu in helping me get the booster across the pond!

Nice big weld on the booster!

Congratulations on receiving the booster (FINALLY!), andyroo!
I am thrilled it made it across the Atlantic to your safe and capable hands. Your booster is as gorgeous as one could ever hope for.

You are well on your way to completing your Jedi weapon!

Booster trio. All quite a bit different.

Anyone have an idea of what these markings might mean? The number looks like a “57” and the other looks like “JL” to me. Could the “57” be the year of manufacture possibly?

Yea, Mine have the Crown and possibly the big L like you see on the other one. I agree with MV on the letters.

Been a while since I chimed in on this thread. The JI stands for John Inglis, Inglis is the company out of Canada that made a very small percentage of the boosters during the war. Jury is still out on the "57" marking.

Was just going to post asking what JI is, thanks for explaining

Here's where I'm up to. All real parts with the latest acquisition being the handwheel. Big thanks to The Ninja for doing a deal with me on it!

I've printed a rough and ready spacer to hold things together until I source the other parts. Although I doubt I'll be able to get my hands on a real BP...

I've put some extra pics of the grenade to. Do we think it's the symmetrical cut grenade?
