Bit more work this weekend, not looking forward to the sanding, sealing, and bondo work that has to take place over the next two weeks.
Started working on the window section, and one of the lighting panels (with the traditional Star Wars Motif)

Thanks Finhead, it's no doubt a big job, I'll just be happy when i am at least painting something. :lol
Small update, I finished the base unit under the window. The window has a ton of work yet to do, but this was pretty cool, I was pleased with how its turning out.
This shot is just of the work been done so far, all in pieces, nothing treated or mounted just yet.

Man, the pictures of the back of those racks made me a little light-headed! Wow! I love that kind of stuff and have worked with those kind of racks in the past, but haven't seen one in years. Excellent cable management and routing!
Are you going to to leave the basement window exposed? I see that you have an egress window there, and was wondering if you planned on hinging a panel to swing open from it or leave the entire window exposed?

Thanks man, the racks are my pride and joy.
The window will have two covers with magnets on them. I wanted to dress the window up, paint the inside of the window-well, but still have it available to open, as well as emergency exits. (I have been entertaining the idea of posting some sign that reads "in emergency pull panels")

I am just starting to read this thread and WOW! That is really cool. A lot of work but totally worth it in the end. Can't wait to see the final result.

Well, it's not totally too late, as I said before I'm making a lot of this up as I go. Do you have an image or two of what your thinking? Do you mean the droids looking out the window, or the door leading into the escape pod?

My original thought was the door of the escape pod. However I'm trying to recall if that actually looked distinctive enough that folks would "get it" without you having to stencil "ESCAPE POD" on it. I'm trying to use my google fu to overcome my fuzzy memory, but no luck so far! (Google, why have you forsaken me?!?! :cry)
Now I'm going to have to break out my video and see if I can get anything from it that would allow me to offer actually constructive ideas.
