The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun ('Hope' part DONE)

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun (ID part)

I pre orders the USB so I'll post some pics whenever it arrives, the isotope gun is from the pilot only, not sure why they dident keep it for the whole series!

I'm looking forward to seeing the pics, It’s a shame they only used the isotope gun in the pilot episode, for just a few minutes of screen time.

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun (ID part)

Here is the upper handguard , the extended Vltor CASV

http://www.vltor.com/casv-el.htm

The whole drum ass'y looks like part if an old coin counter from a bank.

That’s a pretty expensive handguard, 290 dollars :eek
I’m gonna make my own handguard, it’s a complex part and will take a lot of time to build, but it will be a lot cheaper than a original handguard.

Making some nice progress with the ‘hope’ part,

That looks absolutely incredible, I was thinkning about styrene but you went all out, I wish I could do machine work, if ya decide to make acouple for people im interested ;)

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun (ID part)

Thanks a lot, actually, you don’t need machines (accept a drill or a Dremel) to build something like this out of aluminium.

These are the tools I’m using,

Of course, if I had machines (and a workshop), the production process would go a lot faster and cheaper to build.

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun (ID part)

Playing around with LEDs, the canister is not the one I’m gonna use, this one is a fraction too big.
Just a test to see how the “isotope” lights up with a LED, looks good, I’m happy with it.

The clear substance in the canister is not isotope (of course), it’s hair gel :D

So thats how Arnie looked so slick when he came through time, brought his own hair gel :lol

Looks great can't wait to see the final result.

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun (ID part)

Absolutely incredible work, i'm going to have to try my hand at the aluum work, i've never worked with metal before, what kind of aluum did you use and where do I buy sheets of it? The isotope looks great too by the way, looking forward to more updates!

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun (ID part)

Thanks again guys :thumbsup

I use 2mm thick alu sheets, I bought the sheets at a local do it yourself store. I also use a 2 component grey epoxy glue, very strong stuff.

Another picture of the isotope part, those air bubbles light up really nice

Did you receive your chip drive yet? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on one, but want to see what the finished product looks like first.

Re: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Isotope Gun (ID part)

The ‘hope’ part is done, but I’m still looking for a isotope canister that fits, if I can’t find any I need to make one myself.

Next part I’m gonna build is the barrel :thumbsup
