The Official Boycott Star Wars Bluray thread

It does grow indeed. Good Point!

The only thing growing is the cash in Georges pocket from all the suckers and lemmings who keep enabling him by continuing to buy his revisionist swill.:lol

Thank you George for finally breaking me of the desire to buy anymore Star Wars movies.

I think I will say...

NO!

NOOOOOOOooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lol

Massive Star Wars 3D remakes may be cut short | TG Daily
Actually, that has nothing to do with the fans, or the backlash over the Blu-rays. It has to do with the fact that 3D in it's current state sucks and audiences are starting to pick up on that. By the time they actually finish a 3D conversion, no one will want to see it anyway, regardless of what "changes" are made.

It seems the live-action tv program is not the only thing Lucasfilm is in backtrack mode about...

If no one had ever seen any version of Star Wars EVER, and the version released on Blu-ray was put in theaters as a brand new release today, it would still blow people away!

There are no other movies from "a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away".

I already preordered the Blu-rays.

I will be in the theatre to see all 6 movies in 3D.

Were talking about movies. Entertainment. These movies are still entertaining, no matter what has been done to them.

I'm not sure about the "strong women with great leadership skills" part though; there's no female character matching that description in the Prequels. Heck, there's no male one either. :lol

Ok, i guess I should have gone with "supposedly" strong female character. There is an obvious attempt in Episode 1 to try and incorporate a strong female character in the prequel trilogy with Padme, but unfortunately like Leia, her role went from "Solid head strong leader" to "Emotional baggage for the male lead". And with all the crap that goes on in Episode 1, Padme is a character who gets stuff done. Especially when she surrounds herself with all these guys who tell her that every idea she has is a bad idea. Heck, that's 100% of Captain Panaka's character right there. I even liked how she told Anakin to quit acting like a @*$)! in Episode II. That is until until the confession during the arena.

But yeah, any semblance of a good reputation that Padme had as a character was crushed and obliterated with Episode III, the Star Wars movie I hate the most. Lucas wrote her to be so infatuated with Anakin, one of the most intolerable leading characters I've ever had to put up with that she was almost a completely different character. Even if her good moments in the previous episodes weren't that good, they did try. Here they didn't give a crap.

When I first saw her she was young and fresh and a little bit gawky but I loved her instantly. Now she is old, bloated and has had so much bad cosmetic surgery that she is unrecognizable. I think I'll pass and remember her how she was,

FANS REJOICE!

The BluRay Set does indeed contain an ORIGINAL THEATRICAL CUT of a Star Wars movie!

:eek

And which of these movies has Lucas deemed to be worthy of being released unaltered and unmodified when it was first theatrically released?

REVENGE OF THE SITH

Yep. Revenge of the Sith is, according to Lucas, the most perfect Star Wars movie in existence that doesn't need anything fixed to make it better. Now you're probably wondering why I would make such a post since most would probably conclude that Revenge of the Sith wasn't altered at all. Well, there was a wipe transition that was missing from the original DVD release that has now been put back for the BluRay release, thus making it identical to it's theatrical version.

Still doesn't fix the galaxy devouring plot hole where strong women with great leadership skills can just spontaneously lose the will to live just because some dbag of a husband did things that he's done before, only to different people. Makes Leia act almost out of character since she didn't die immediately lose the will to live following the destruction of Alderaan, seeing a frozen Han being taken away by Boba Fett, or being introduced to the now CGI eyed Wicket.

Don't worry. He'll fix it for the Virtual Light version, when he'll replace the dialogue to be "She lost the will to live....oh, and there was that pesky sepsis following childbirth..."

BluRay screens have, well, long since been released. Let's see how Vader's saber was handled in the final product.

Yep. Still pink. And to make matters worse, his chest device has three very red lights on it. So not only is Vader's lightsaber now pink and his chest piece is not, I'm going to conclude that this was a deliberate change! Oh, well. At least Jiyeon will have something to add for her collection.

Same here, Scout! Don't know how long i'll have to wait for the free Blu's, it's been 2 weeks already.....are you getting the Panasonic 110? That's the one i got, i've already got a wired connection installed, so no need for wi-fi. It's a smashing player, much better than the Samsung c5900 i had before....

hi rich,

I bought today the Panasonic DMP-BDT310 / 3D / DVD / Blu-ray Player (With Free Original Star Wars Trilogy On Blu-ray) I'm going to send off the free blurays in the next day or so.

Following my research it looks a good Blu Ray player at an affordable cost, I thought for another £25 the player has a 2nd HDMI port for a future surround sound system and you can get a free set of SW Blu Rays.

But I've just opened the SW Blu Ray box set and realy unimpressed with the box and the leaflet inside, hopefully the blurays will be good to view on my 42" plasma tv

looking into making my own box for the blurays to go in
