The Official Avatar Colonel Miles Quaritch "Wasp" Pistol Research Thread

Nope, I meant something a little more real-world like that 40mm grenade "pistol" ... loaded with, say, #4 buckshot. I think it would sort of fit with his idea that bringing down big game means bring a big gun. :lol

But that's a cool fantasy gun you posted; thanks. :)

Like the Tarus Judge revolver that fires 2.5in Shotgun shells.

Hey:
I thought I'd offer a cheap alternative. A friend of my have been going through old games and found this controller. He wanted me to mod this into the pistol from Avatar.

What system is that for? Don't think I've seen one like that.

Pretty sure it was for a Timesplitter game. Google "Npc-106". That's where I got the pic (not original, sorry!). Marking on the side says Namco LTD. G/C system product 2

Namco Guncon 2. That one might be for the PC. I've seen blaze orange ones that were for the PS2.

Yeah, we're actually looking at the orange one. Been thinking about parting it out for some time, but I didn't want to ask him until I had a real good reason because he really liked the game. But since the movie came out I guess he's ready to part with it. Have to add a chamber to the center among other things; and it won't be 100% accurate, but he's not as anal about accuracy as I am.

If you've got good dremel and painting skills (not that I do) you could actaully turn that into a really nice piece. It's kinda weird how much it actaully resembles it, but it's probably a coinciedence.

One of the newer Nerf blasters looks a lot like a Stormtrooper E-11, too. Truly, a case of life imitating art.

D'oh, one of those is the base for the Doctor Who Judoon blaster! Wish I'd known that before I scratchbuilt one :(

Scroll down to the one simply listed "Shock Gun". It looks like the sonic blaster from Minority Report.

Watching the movie right now, i'll keep an eye out for more shots of it.

Hey yo, as per a question I got in the email, I'm not planning on working on this gun, it's pretty much open to anyone who can do it.

That's a pretty common trait. I SERIOUSLY doubt they used a revolver that fires the massive .500 S&W Magnum for a base gun. It's a bigger cartridge than the .44 Magnum.

ya i now
but it's just to show us that the gun they use does not break to load.
but that they use a gun that loads the same way as the Wesson.
this weekend i gonna start with building this thing.
just started with making drawings of it. scale 1:1.
