Vintage M19 Telescope #11106 M.H.R.CO. 1942 D.A.

I hope everyone is safe during these crazy times, I have not been doing much hunting with the global lock-downs, however I was able to score this really nice vintage M19 Telescope, which will make an awesome addition to my collection of Sherman Tank Scopes.

Vintage Hales KEEPER for my all vintage parts Obi Saber

Whilst I was not looking, I was super lucky to recently pick up a mega clean large cube Hales No3 MK1 Rifle Grenade, The Frag Body is in amazing condition except it had a thick-ish flat edge on the Lip which spun out my OCD, after talking to a few guys I contacted Scott scottjua to see if he could help and lathe the Lip so it had an accurate bevel, Scott was like sure can no problem send it over a few days later the Hales arrived back to Dustin looking perfect :D all Dustin needed to do was remove the paint & blu the Frag Body and swap over on my Obi Saber.

Dustin newmagrathea sent through the video (dont miss the end lol!!) the Frag Body looks AMAZING!! thanks buddy :D I also need to give a big shout-out to Scott scottjua for doing the Lip haircut it looks awesome & we had it back in a few days thanks buddy (y) once we sort out the Windvane I will be selling the original Frag Body I had on my Obi Saber, which is also in amazing condition.

Can you not swap out the windvain with another one you already have?
The new frag body looks great.
Even when you're not looking for anything you find the most amazing parts :D (y)

Thanks buddy, yeah I am going to keep the current Neck & Windvane on my Obi which is already attached to the new Frag Body in the first two photos, I would swap out the cracked Windvane Ring in the future if I find another accurate Ring that was not damaged.

Vintage Hales Windvane Success

Dustin newmagrathea just sent through a photo, SUCCESS :D he was able to get the Windvane apart after soaking in acetone and breaking down the glue, Dustin is now confident he can repair the Windvane by soldering the Ring & slightly filing the Fins to reduce the pressure on the Ring, the same way he repaired the Windvane Ring I have on my Obi (y)

Vintage Hales No3 MK1 Rifle Grenade

Dustin newmagrathea just sent through some glamour photos of my spare Hales which is assembled with parts from the recent Hales I picked up Hales #5 commission + the Frag Body that was previously on my vintage parts Obi saber, which was Frag Body #1 from the earlier Hales commissions.

The Frag Body was restored back to bare metal & blued
The Windvane Ring was soldered & repaired
The Neck & Windvane was blued
The Rod is longer then we see with most Hales, I had to ask around & was told there has only been a few of these long Rod Hales seen for sale or in the community

What an amazing looking Hales No3 MK1 Rifle Grenade, Dustin did an awesome job on these Hales commissions, this Hales will make an amazing display piece or assembled as part of a vintage parts Obi saber, I intend to sell this one & will post in the Junk Yard in the coming weeks.

Great find The Ninja. How does the rod’s length compare with the stunt saber blades on set?

And a fantastic restoration as always, newmagrathea! Nice work on the solder repair for the windvane ring.

Thanks buddy, Dustin newmagrathea did a comparison photo of the Rods, (edit) I also added the exploded diagrams for the Long & Short Rifles;

Long Rifle:
15" (16" with Base Plug)

Short Rifle:

Thanks for adding these diagrams to your thread! I was just looking at a few online. Very interesting, indeed.

Based on the diagrams I edited my posts to include the information on the 2x Hales No3 MK1 Rifle Grenade versions;

10" - Short Rifle
15" - Long Rifle

Vintage Parts Obi Saber finishing off some outstanding parts

Dustin newmagrathea sent through a video today, after finishing off the outstanding parts for my vintage parts Obi Saber, we needed to finish;

Fitting the Transistors & Washers

Trim the length of the Connecting Rod

Polish the spare Cone I have to use with the vintage Balance Pipe when I am lucky enough to pick one up, I currently have a Roman Balance Pipe as a place holder, which Dustin will be weathering to look more like a vintage Balance Pipe.

I am a few steps closer to finishing my unicorn vintage prop, thanks buddy :D

I thought the balance pipe, on my Obi-Wan, would forever be the replica part. However, thanks to Chris teecrooz, it was one of the 1st parts I got.
You ARE the master hunter Ian The Ninja! I don't have any doubts in my mind you will find your balance pipe! Heck, you might even leads on one now.
Your saber is beautiful! & Romans Romans Empire parts are so good, the genuine parts slide right on, when found. Even the threading on his parts match the original! Amazing.
You got this my friend. You're as good as done! It took me 4 years. That dang booster... thought I'd never get one. Anyway, the hunt continues!
