That's pretty damn nice. The detail is amazing :thumbsup .

I don't think I ever watched The Neverending Story (just didn't have that much time ;) :lol ), so I can't comment on the accuracy, but I know good work when I see it.

The first one was amazing. The second one.. and third.. not so much..

This prop rules.

Yeah, I think you're right. I'll put a black felt background on this and see how that works out.
Thanks for all the comments :thumbsup

Go with a darker background. With the white matting and the Auryn being gold/silver, it fades against that linen background.

WOW a Great prop, when i saw it i started opening paypay to send my payment.. Thanks VashDstampede and thank Mrs. VashDstampede for me.

Thanks Ghost :thumbsup
And Welcome again to the RPF.

Here's new pics of my shadow box. I changed the background to black velvet and added 1 3/4 mm glass rhinestones in the eyes.
Now all I need is the plaque :love

Glad you liked it Ghost. :thumbsup
We both appreciate all the great comments about the Auryn.
Now we're trying to brainstorm what she can sculpt next, an easily recognizable small prop from an 80's movie.
Any suggestions?

I am going to have to do something like that for mine.

Thanks again guys.
The jewel in the eyes and the shadow box adds a whole lot to the overall look to this piece, I can't wait to see what others will do with their copies :D

You're very welcome. :D
By the way, just out of curiosity how the heck does someone remove a song from their head.
I've had this song in playing in my head ever since the start of this project.
I think I got it beat though. . . The Neverending Sto-ory, a, a, ah, a, a, ha . . . maybe not :confused :D

What do you mean by "metalize?"

My plan is to gold and silver leaf mine, but I'm a little concerned about the "crackly" look that leaf can have, especially on an irregular surface.

I would like to know more about that too?

Ely, just wondering what kind of gold and silver paint you used.... your Auryn in the photos looks great.

I think I've decided against leafing mine, since leaf has a hard time with texture. If anyone else can recommend great gold and silver paint, I'd appreciate it.

Sorry for the late post.

I used 18k gold krylon spray paint and super metal zynolyte (160 super finish chrome). First I primed it, then I sprayed the whole thing gold, then I sprayed the silver in a cap and hand brushed it onto the auryn. I then weathered it with accrylic paints.

Here are the pics of the theater production of The Neverending Story from the Netherlands :D
I think they are pretty awesome and I think they are in their fourth or fifth week of production :thumbsup .
Thanks Sebastiaan :thumbsup .
