The Neverending Story - AURYN sculpt

I forgot to post these pics, but someone ordered a couple of Auryns from us from the Netherlands during our first run.
They were doing a theater production of The Neverending Story and he sent my wife and I some cool pics.
It was a great treat for us, so enjoy.

My wife is a very talented artist and usually she just does drawings of anime characters and original artwork.
However, she was in a creative mood a couple of nights ago, and I figured I could have her try her hand in making a movie prop replica.
She was never too interested before, but The Neverending Story is one of her favorite movies.
I was really excited when she agreed since the Auryn is one prop that I have always wanted to add to my collection :love .
I finished the mold last night and cast one up and will be painting it with the necklace paint scheme and put it in a shadow box.

The sculpt is finished and I don't want her to get discouraged, so please no harsh critiques[ :angel

I think I'm also going to make a replica of the book and do the pewter paint scheme.

I don't think I ever watched The Neverending Story (just didn't have that much time :lol ), so I can't comment on the accuracy, but I know good work when I see it.

I got a shadowbox from ROSS today for $5. It had a chinese coin in it so I just took it apart, ripped the coin off and replaced it with the Auryn and a cheap necklace my mother-in-law gave me to use for it.
It looks pretty darn good to me. I'm going to put a little plaque on the bottom that says: The Auryn - "Do What You Wish" and below that The Neverending Story.

By the way takevin, you might want to check the junkyard

Go with a darker background. With the white matting and the Auryn being gold/silver, it fades against that linen background.
