Limited Run The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg - **RUN STARTED** First Cast! (Page 3)

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

Forgot to put down that I'd like green please.

Consider it done...especially with that "please." (Though you could have cursed me out and I would have probably still given you the correct color :lol )

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

I'm in for a green one.

Have you considered charging more for a finish paint job? Or a tutorial video for n00bs? (I'm asking for a friend ;)

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

Any update on this project?

I would think if its hollow you can make a small hole in the bottom. Then fill it with a liquid / foam and patch over the hole. Kinda like making a jelly donut. Ha

The eggs look great btw, is this run still on?

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

Sorry for the radio silence guys. I had a few personal things pop up in my life that prevented me from working on projects. Some good (Like becoming an uncle) some not so good, and I didn't want to commit myself to a project if I didn't have the time to do it properly.

But this is why I never take money until I am completely ready to roll. I don't want to be sitting here with your money if I don't have the time to work. But NOW I have time again.

So, I recently pulled my mold out and it seems the mother mold was contaminated somehow because parts of it have "uncured." There was probably just some water or something trapped inside. No worries though because I actually wanted to improve the mold. So, I'll be cleaning up my master this week to prepare it to be molded again. I'll keep this thread updated and reach out to all who have expressed interest once we near molding time, since I'll now need the deposits to cover the molding materials. But I'll let you know when that will be necessary.

...but don't worry, since it was my mistake that caused me to have to remold this thing, I will not change my price by a single cent to be fair to you!

As for making it heavy, as others have mentioned, the easiest way would be to drill a hole and pour in a filler material then just clean up the hole. If I was to offer this, I'd have to charge A LOT more to cover the cost of the fill material, so I'd recommend that if you're interested in that, you do it yourself. You'll probably save money that way.

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

Glad to see the thread back to life (and that it was not all due to problems)! Still aboard and happy to fill it myself for weight if needed.

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

It's shouldn't be too bad of an operation to fill the eggs, the question in my mind, because of the detailing on the surface is where to put the hole to pour into...I'm sure one of you will figure out a great spot.

The next major update here will be when I get my master all cleaned up again. Once that's done, I'll collect deposits from the first 5-10 people to get the run started. I prefer to work with "batches" of people rather than taking everyone's deposits at once. It helps keep it all manageable for me and allows me to focus more on quality than making sure everyone's orders are done as quickly as possible.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions.

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

There will be some this weekend!

I'm just getting back into the swing of things here after a very personally busy two months and this is the first project I'm taking care of now that I have the time again. So stay tuned.

Good to hear. Once I'm back up to speed, I'll be sending PMs to everyone on the Interest List to confirm their spots and colors.

Especially with the new Season starting soon, I want to start getting these into the hands of fellow fans.

Re: The Most Accurate Game of Thrones Dragon Egg

I just wanted to update this while it's still the weekend.

I have officially begun remastering my master. I'll upload some pictures tomorrow, even though it's not much to look at, at the moment. It's mostly just me working spot putty into the groove created by demolding it the last time. I'm not trying to get it glass smooth, since it's supposed to be rough-hewn, but I definitely want to at least get it back to where it was.

I should have it mastered by Thursday, given my workload this week.

Let me know if you have any questions.
