The Mandalorian (TV series)

LOVE IT!! (y)Such a great series, and I'm not even a fan of Fett. This is the Star Wars I was waiting for. Cool main character, that has his own flaws and makes believable mistakes, an excellent story and script so far, and really good background characters in all episodes - Kuiil, Jawas, Herzog's Imperial character, IG-11, Carl Weather's character, the other Mandos and of course Baby Yoda (or baby of whatever species Yoda is LOL). Give me The Mandalorian instead of any Sequel they keep trying to make. I have spoken.

Love this show! While I'd accidentally spoiled the child before seeing episode 1, it's so darn cute!

On them, I love how we get to see the Mandalorian from it's perspective sometimes. He's an imposing, protective force that's often just out of frame, because of the space-pram. And the whole scene where they want to help with Mando's wound - and he's all "go back to bed!" like he's afraid of the connection that he's starting to feel. I also expected some protest while Mando was sniping the jawas - but no, that's the will of the Force when you mess with my big dude. We got ourselves a SW Hawk & Chick!

It is a little weird to have this "Mandalorians never remove their helmets" thing, since this series is by Dave Filoni, and he's the one who expanded the new canon lore of the Mandalorians in CW & Rebels. They had their helmets off all the time! Maybe it's this tribe. And with the skull logo, I wonder if this is the specific tribe/clan that Boba Fett was/is attached to, similarly tiered to Clan Wran or Kreize.

2 more things that I think are great:
How SMALL this story feels. It's intimate, and while high-stakes for those involved - not for the galaxy at large.
The first time the music swelled while they rode the Blurrgs was a little weird. But then we got the big music swell while they slowly plodded through the rain on a cart. And again while trundling along in a sand crawler. It cracked me up!

Really enjoying this show. It's breathtaking what they archieved so far with Disney in their backs. Imagine how great this show would be with a good company behind it.

We do not know much about 'Disney on their backs'- a lot of people are assuming if the mouse is involved then that particular Star Wars project is doomed.
I think what is happening is the difference between the high visibility big budget movie division and the television division.
The stakes are not as high and the show is being allowed to develop the story. I am impressed what they have accomplished so far and I am so glad I have a show which I am looking forward to watching each week (The Orville is the other one)

Yes Victor3 ! I can’t help but keep thinking about Hawk and Chick. I know they’re based on long running Samurai tropes but I specifically think of BBs when anyone mentions the “Wolf and Cub” nature of the story lol

I in general do not like Disney a bit. There aren't many movies or series I like from Disney.

I liked Rogue One, thought Han Solo was not that bad and I am enjoying the Mandalorian. With Favreau they picked the right guy for this project and I am a fan of Pedro Pascals work too. But I think that it could be edgier and I am afraid that it'll not reach the depth it could with another Studio. It's just a feeling that they'll get forced to connect it with the Skywalker-Saga. I really hope they keep the series on their path and not falling for any dumb agenda like the movies do.

As long as it runs in the shadow of the movies the guys working on the show can be creative.

That was amazing. I was grinning ear-to-ear and let out a "WOOOOO!!!"

I'm so glad it didn't get spoiled for you, Anibal!

RE: Victor3's comment about not removing their helmets. The husband and I are thinking this is some sort of splinter group which has sworn an oath that they wouldn't remove their helmets until the Mandalorians are restored to power or something along those lines.

My only regret in the last episode is the last two shootouts (rescue & escape to the ship) were filmed in locations which were so dark.

Slowwww start. Insanely stupid stormtroopers. Cheesy Mando shootout save the day happy music nonsense. Topped with a cheesetastic salute. I was with it until this episode. Guess I'm the minority.
