The Mandalorian (TV series)

So...there is a certain outcome to the episode that I had not considered that is very un-Disney.

The Mando killed a wild beast that was only trying to protect its egg. Then after having killed the beast, he turns over the egg that it was trying to protect to the bloodthirsty Jawas who proceed to crack open the egg and gorge themselves with it, effectively also killing the child that the beast was trying to protect.

That’s pretty cold stuff, right there.

Kind of went all Rogue One on it.

[emoji1787] my wife and I both think the music is the weakest part of the show. She's been convinced that she's heard similar music.. today she was watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail and shouted that their traveling music is the same and yes, it's damn close..

Anyway, I really hope that's not the last we see of IG-11.
Me too, Taika hinted at more of IG-11 later in the series on some red carpet interview, I'll post the video if I can find it, but being Taika he might have been trolling.

The knife in throat thing... The guy has a rifle that blows you to nothingness... I assume his knife has some autokill function too

Also I have now been listening to the main theme on its own, it's stuck in my head and I LIKE IT. That music is like a symbiotic parasite, at first you hate it, but then it slowly takes you over...

They (still) have him in the banner image on the show’s Disney+ page, along with Cara Dune (Gina Carano). I guess Disney wouldn’t do that if IG-11 was just a one-and-done in the premiere?

Circle of life and all that....

2.) Are we really supposed to believe that one shank with the knife was enough to stop the enraged Mudhorn in her tracks?

To me, this is the same as Jango one shotting the charging animal in AotC in the arena. Most humanoids in SW have similar anatomy and most animals are the same. If it has a head with eyes and a mouth and prob a brain it prob has tender spots that will instantly kill it and a seasoned hunter will know it.

As far as the knife instakill.... I thought he also had a sort of reaction of disbelief. But I've only watched it once so maybe i'm imagining things.

I just rewatched it.

First off, cool effects on the vibro-blade that I didn’t catch the first time.

Secondly, I’m not even sure he actually hit the neck. When he finally pulls out the blade (shot with his back to us), it looks more like it was in her upper leg.

Whatever. I really liked the ep. (y)

The thing with the knife reminds me of an old Far Side cartoon. A group of cavemen are gathered around a Mammoth, which is on it back, all four legs sticking straight up, and a singe spear in the Mammoth's side. One of the cavemen says: We have to remember that spot.

David.

I loved the part where he is blasting those JAWAS after discovering they are stealing parts of his ship, now come on who hasn't wanted to shoot someone if you find that they were messing with your ride?;)

Yeah totally. Almost like shooting ducks at the fair ground too.

Even baby yoda seemed to be enjoying it [emoji2]

I’m really enjoying it so far. I love the old western vibe (I love space westerns; Firefly). It doesn’t feel like intention fan service which I appreciate. Also I like how we have to wait a week between episodes because I would binge they hell out of this.

If this works out to be a re-watchable mini-series, I am fine with that. I don't need a drawn out TV show with 50 mysteries setup, 3 resolved, and then it gets canceled before the plot even has a turn to reveal. (Like half of what has come out the past decade)

Both episodes so far do seem to be written a bit like a video game, but are still fun to watch.

Regarding the metal melting without fire: It can be done with induction heating. I figure the rest of the flames seen are used to just keep the temperature up while working the metal.

Yeah it does kinda look like he stabbed it in the upper leg. Maybe that's where it keeps its balls?

Also, maybe Yodlette gave it some massive internal hemorrhaging when he was levitating it?

I pulled the trigger last Thursday and signed up for Disney+ and absolutely LOVE this series. If I buy a large 3D printer I will be printing this awesome helmet. There is also a full size IG-88 head on thingyverse to print so yahoo! lol Love the western vibe as well and can't wait til Friday to see what happens next.
