The Mandalorian (TV series)

Glad to see an episode that managed to be fun, challenge Mando as a character, and not rely on shoehorning in characters I couldn’t care less about. Bill Burr was a lot better this time, and no silly “aim assist” robot arm to help him shoot. Stakes were returned as Mando struggled to fight out of his element, which was fun. All in all, not particularly surprised—my favorite episode as a whole from last season was episode 2, which was directed by the same person as this week’s episode, Rick Famuyiwa, I think his name is?
Mine is Episode 1 but the second is also great.

This was honestly the best episode yet. It delved into the characters and I was actually tense while watching them within the belly of the beast. That imperial officer made me actually fear the Empire again. I loved how Mayfeld vocalized what I was thinking when he expressed relief when the stormtroopers arrived to cover their transport. There were some really great perspectives on the ideologies within this universe and it showed nuance and depth I haven't seen yet in this show or any new Star Wars material in a long, long time. Color me very impressed! I really enjoyed that. If they can keep up with this quality of material I would be a very happy fan indeed. I also love Bill Burr and he's a far better actor than people give him credit for.

Wow that was awesome!

I like the bookends of the first episode. Everything right up until he gets the beskar bar, and then everything after Kuill. Love him, but not the little creature things.
I love the scene when he fights together with IG-11 to free the child. When he is shooting with the big cannon and the music in the background..yeah thats really a mandalorian warrior! :D

I really love the idea that Fett still had some armor parts in the Slave 1, like another kneepad, blaster, but he STILL wanted his damn armor back. And i love the idea that he constantly adapts and refreshes it, it explains the differences between ESB and ROTJ. And shows that during the OT he was due for a repaint lol.

Or possible, he only keeps battlescars that are HIS, and since some of what was there now was from Cobb, it needed to be "cleansed."

Also interesting that the armor is now on a black vest.

I prefer the ESB Boba...but the new version is also ok for the series because he looks now more like the other Mandalorians we have seen in the show. And I think Temuera Morrison looks really badass in the suit.I´m so glad that they casted him again and not another actor.

I totally agree.

I know there's a lot of fear of oversaturation during the last couple of days , but I'd love a Young Boba Fett series, kinda like the Young Indy series.

It could star Daniel Logan, with Morrison popping up every few episodes as a framing device. Like he was recounting adventures to someone.

Either way, I'd love to see Logan in a more familiar version of the armor, even though I absolutely love Fett's look now.

The reason why this episode is more engaging is because it wasn't bogged down with cameos. It allowed the new characters to develop and be the focus without the distraction. Boba was utilized well and sparingly and remained cool without overshadowing the leads.

It just makes me wonder how things could have been different for the ST and proves that had they been given to the right people they could have struck that balance. It just disappoints me. At least this show has mostly gotten it right and hopefully we will be in for more with the right people involved.

I don't think it's reasonable to make the claim "Star Wars is saved" by Favreau or Filoni. I think it's more accurate to say they and the other talent involved in this show have genuine passion and respect for the material and it comes through with their efforts.

This episode also once again showed that despite being a "badass", Din really is a teenager or a child when it comes to social interaction and emotions. Im glad hes got a lot of flaws so episodes like this can happen.
It really, REALLY showed how uncomfortable he is without that helmet.

It's subtle, but I think we're really seeing a man go from 'need no one & nothing', with a strict set of rules, to functioning adult. I'll say again, this reminds me of Leon so much, I just hope it doesn't end the same way.

I loved that Mayfield was the voice of truth here. So much of Bill Burr's comedy is absolute truth wrapped in absurd delivery, they couldn't have made a better choice than to give him those scenes.
