Figured i'd throw this out there, Joel's holster is by tripple k

An important distinction, yes! ...but only if you're going to carry a real Taurus 66 to match what's on screen. They don't make an Airsoft version of that pistol, so I had to pivot to the Colt Python that looks fairly close, but then the TrippleK holster series doesn't fit the Python...so again, I had to pivot to the TonyU Carrylite holster than closely matches Joel's on-screen holster. The big difference is the open trigger on the TrippleK versus the one I sourced...which I felt might be a little safer looking for conventions.

I just got a cheap angled flashlight online for less than $15, bent it to have more of an angle and then sanded it back a bit to take off the glossy paint. To get the bend where it's riveted, I used a hose clamp to force the curve and it sits fairly flush for a connection point.

how was it drilling the holes for the clip? i think i may tap mine so the clip can be removed.

No issues at at, though I'd recommend to use some masking/painters tape to mark it up for clean holes.

I was considering tapping them as well, but figured it'll be taped over anyway, so went with rivets.

Looks like they replace his beat up Elk Tracker 861s with another pair of 861s. 861's have that distinct speed hook on the ankle area that the others don't. They clearly remove the stitched on logo/emblem on the tongue as well. I could swear in a few different shots, except for ep 1, that the embossed emblem on the heal counter switches between the circle one, and one without. You need a lot of boots for the production so its possible they have both versions. They've clearly been dyed/darkened by the production team and weathered.

Might these be the Irish Setter Trailblazers that Cynthia mentioned Joel wearing? They are a slightly different design than the Elk Trackers.

Trailblazers don’t have that ankle speed hook. The 861 is the only boot I’ve seen from Irish Setter that has that.
Maybe the Trailblazers come in later? Maybe she mentioned it as it was a potential boot option before settling on the Elk Tracker?

Just got my Fjallraven shirt and I love it. I was expecting a much more artificial look and I don't think it's the case. It looks just like in the show. I'm not even sure they broke it down all that much. It's supposed to look like a newish, fresh shirt on Joel when he changes clothes and a clear nod to the shirt he wears in the videogame.

Not sure if many people will be able to nab one of these anymore, but just wanted to reiterate what was said earlier in the thread: order your own size. I'm a Medium, I went for a Medium following the advice here and it fits me like a glove. Had I ordered a Large it would've been huge on me.

That said, anyone has sizing advice about the Huckberry jacket? Their site recommends ordering one size up, but some reviews online say the opposite.

I found my jacket true to size. I got the Large, and it fits perfectly (5'11 / 43-44 chest / 34 waist). Otherwise I'd recommend grabbing a jacket you already own that fits well, and compare to their size chart:

I wear an XL or XXL and opted for XXL since I'm wearing the flannel and other undershirt underneath. It fits perfectly!

A few bits I've put together so far, for a very limited budget Joel build

Everything other than the UHC 586 revolver (the closest thing I could find to a Taurus 66) are all 2nd hand ebay bargains.

The Hunter holster and belt combo were originally for my MacReady costume (which I still need to finish), but as it fits the 4" 586 perfectly, I think I'll use it for Joel too

Still searching for a backpack and a few other things, but I think once everything has been weathered and beaten up it should hopefully all look o.k together.

586 grips have been sprayed black, and I'll add some oil washes later to dirty it up.
2D Maglite was pretty beaten up already, but I gave it a few extra licks and added some tape and a clip.

Tan canvas jacket (from a brand I've never heard of).

Wrangler Indigo shirt (size medium, fits great).

Caterpillar P717832 Brent boots (they're no Elk Trackers, but they'll do).

Very nice! I love the gunbelt! UHC does make a black on black version of that revolver for around $35.
I grabbed an airsoft version of the Colt Python that has very similar characteristics to the Taurus 66, especially with the grip. It was $60 and it's all metal. Holster was about $30. I did decide to modify it slightly as the original piece covered the trigger and Joel's holster does now. I just dyed and weathered it this weekend to look more beaten up like Joel's in the show and I'm pleased with how it turned out!
