Well, I finally got around to finishing one of my favorite props from one of my all time favorite holiday movies, A Christmas Story. That's right. An official Red Ryder 200 Shot Range Model Air Rifle complete with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time".

You can still buy the Red Ryder bb gun, but to make it match the one in the film, I had to add an additional metal band to the end of the barrel, (the ones in the film were brass but a little rub and buff took care of that), create the sundial graphic and add it to the stock but the most challenging was building the compass from scratch. Still, it was a lot of fun... (most of the time, anyway ;) ), but it's finally done.

So, let's all say it together... "You'll shoot your eye out." :D

Thanks, guys.

Thought I'd post a better shot of the compass and sundial... The sundail was done using a custom printed waterslide decal.

"Ohhh Fudddggge." Only, I didn't say "Fudge." What a classic movie and iconic weapon.:) I definitely want one.

BTW, you did a superb job on this.
