The Escape Pod Project

'Tis the Season...

Every December, a group of us at work get together for a Christmas ornament exchange. Each person makes multiples of an ornament, one for each other member of the group. The ornaments are always wildly creative and of amazing craftsmanship. My ornaments this year were smaller versions of the Escape Pod!

Cool article. Science actually applied to some of the stuff they did is intriguing... Your pod looks great! Recently inspired me to dig out my old EP build from under one bench (been there for two years)… and get it to a point of weathering finally.

Masterpiece Models will be selling everything you need to make a pod, minus the plating and pod itself. I am almost done getting everything set, and will send it all to them after Christmas passes. All from original styrene, no castings of castings. With the consultation of Quincy and some cross-checking ref from an ILMer, the Sealab brace parts are oriented correctly! Even the tank treads will be part of the set, cast in a rubbery resin! I even printed the round wire for the top, because why not.
