I'm currently working on a new waistcoat.
Would anyone be kind enough to give me an opinion on these fabric samples?
I'm kinda leaning towards the one on the left at the moment
Also picked up some gloves the other day for next to nothing. Just giving 'em a going over with leather dye at the mo.

Tell ya what. I've got some silver rub-n-buff at home. Later tonight I'll try it on a penny and see what happens.

Well - I'd say rub n' buff is definately the way to go. I went to get some bronze or copper colored, but alas, all the craft stores sell is different kinds of silver and gold. I'll have to order some bronze off the net. So I came home and used silver leaf (because I already had it) on a penny... the results were amazing. Simply rubbing it on did the trick good enough, but I wanted to see just how shiny I could get it. After just a minute of buffing with my dremel, I got this sucker looking like a new dime. I will take pics and post later tonight...

ok so we still need results of turning a silver dime into bronze like the film
there might be a snag though - I dont think they make bronze rub n' buff - I know they make copper...

picked up some Grecian Gold rub n buff today gonna test it out on a dime later
the closest color I think they make is call autumn gold - its pretty bronze/copper looking...

I deffintly agree, the left fabric is the better of the two.
What kind of leather dye are you using on your gloves?USMCrice, who'd you have make your vest?

Well, I was really just checking the color changing ability and adhesion. No sense in buying something if it doesn't look like it's going to work. The good news is that it worked fantastic. The bad news is that I didn't have any rubber gloves and used a cloth... now my finger is silver.

Where did you say you picked up your gloves? They're perfect! How close to nuthin DID you pay.
Can someone tell me where to buy the coin button, and if anyone knows where to obtain screen-accurate buttons for the topcoat??
