The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

thats a real mercury dime glued to a button. i have the actual button used in the film, im still in the process of trying to figure out how to get it to bronze

Awsome, thanks! I guess I'm gonna hafe to get one for sure now! Was your vest also custom made? I'm thinking of adding it to the list of to do, my mom made mine that I have, I'd realy like to have one with better pockets and shape of collar, etc.

Nice manequin as well, I'd love to have my suit on one. A good Joker bust would fill that out realy nice. :p ;)

That's what I wound up doing. They had them at my local fabric store. You just have to find the novelty button area.

im still trying to figure out how to get it that perfect shade of white that it is in the film. spraypaint is way to go i think

yeah i have cans of spray paint laying all over the place. still trying to figure out how to bronze that dime button though

yeah I dont think simply painting the dime button will work - in the pics, the bronze color has light and dark spots...

Try Testors metallizer. It's buffable. I haven't used it on this but I use it all the time and even the non-buffable metalizer is buffable. Really gives it depth and you can use an airbrush to lay it on really light to make it subtle. I painted a resin sterling and people swore they good see the depth of metal. I love this stuff!

yeah ive been looking up ways to tarnish dimes and such but still nothing good. maybe someone should contact a coin aficionado and see what they know

too bad testors brass metalizer is non-buffable

It says non-buffable but you can still buff it. I painted my airsoft steel. It was non-buffable but was able to get a nice steel sheen.
