The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

Thanks for your imput on the fabric colour choice.

As for the gloves, I found 'em on ebay under mens leather gloves. A fair few pages of searching and then I just spotted 'em. Cost me about $5-6. The pick stitching is not as pronounced as the movie ones but it's close enough for the price.
As for the leather dye, I used some leather dye prep on them first and then a purple leather dye from Fiebings but there are also alternatives from Dylon or Nu-life. If anyone ends up using the Fiebings dye I'd advise using it on brown or tan gloves as it does absorb into the leather and I don't think it would work too well on black gloves.

Your gloves. Give me dems.

Oh, and for anyone still wondering about the vents/panels...

Well, if anyone remembers, I had a bank heist mask coming...Well, it's been a month, and although Sixx has claimed to ship it out once, and receive it back, I've never received it. It's been over a month sence I payed him. So here 2 or 3 days ago myself and my cousin, (sence I had to use his PayPal) had to file a claim against him. :( I was realy looking foreward to getting that mask. :(

Coat looks exactly like mine. ;) heehee

:rolleyes

I found out by a friend that Sixx was online at another site here a few days ago, but still hasn't replied to my PM's, or the PayPal claim. :wacko

EDIT - Just got a PM from Sixx...hopefully I get the mask here soon. :D (I had faith in him, hopefully he pulls through. :) )

Sweet! There was someone on this board who made the rocktets out of mini traffic cones like they used for bicycles. The rest I believe was PVC pipe and wood laminate among other bits and pieces. How much did THAT set you back?

So I don't really like the licenced wigs out there. Anybody find a good realistic wig at an online wig shop? Or are the licenced ones our best option?

I grew mine out and dyed it. I know that doesn't help but I didn't like any of the alternatives.

Paint :p

But if you want something specific, I used a green fabric paint that will go on anything from shirts to shoes without cracking. Available at michael's!

I may have to go the same route you did. Just wasn't sure if I wanted to chance messing up on the paintjob but I guess alot if it wont be seen anyways so why not. Great job , btw. Looks VERY good. Any excuse to go to Michaels. hehe

Darren,

it's a Metallic Emerald Green. The brand is Lumiere, by Jacquard. about 4 bucks a bottle and is the stuff for these kinds of projects.

Oh, and to say this is tedious is to say the least. I can't wait to never have to paint these ever again!
