The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

I've found gelatine far easier to work with. But saying that I'd really like to try encapsulated silicone so.......
I'd probably be up for both.

I have to admit, I wear the socks almost on a daily basis. I don't have the official Tabio's, it doesn't look like they produce them anymore, but have found the ones made by Socks Rock to be pretty decent. The only thing I wouldn't wear is the overcoat because of the color, but I did order one from Baron in black, so I will see if I can get away with that. I've also worn the shirt quite a bit, though I haven't had anyone from the 80s try and buy coke from me yet.

I'm not in the market yet for scars, but I'd be interested to know what are the differences of each material. I'm sure I have read a little from your past posts b89, but give me a quick reminder.

Also, just wanted to give a thanks to RBeresh, I bought the coat after following his collaboration with Baron, and am very impressed with their work.

You can get great info on gelatin from nimbacreations.com. They have tutorial videos on how to apply and color gelatin.

the encapsulated silicone would be a little more complex but it would be completely accurate to the materials used on set down to the brand... It's really a matter of preference. I don't think the edges will ever be as good on the encapsulated after the first time but I also don't know how many uses you'd get out of gelatin...?

If anyone else from the board has bought the new Baron coat please share pics as you'll probably do it better then my lousy camera skills. I manage to talk to Baron the other day and had heard that they've received quite a few orders for the new coat. Really glad they are getting some business out of this!

So the other day I was fooling around with some old halloween makeup, trying to get a decent photo with my new coat. The picture quality is terrible, but I thought I'd share my results. I know I have seen a lot of members in full costume, Jodo, Not so serious, with some really good make up jobs. I was messy, but I think I did pretty good with cheap makeup.

Anyways, I've never really posted photos of myself online before, I hope these don't come back to haunt me:love

Eerily creepy! Great job on the makeup, you wouldn't want it to be too perfect anyways. Just got to get some more great shots of that amazing coat..lol

It's a nice coat indeed. Is this your first few attempts at the make-up? It's a good idea to start off with the cheapest make-ups whilst practising. It'll get better the more you do it.
Best thing to do is sit down with some good reference shots and study. Even if you go for the messy look, you still have to do the cleaner look and then mess it up from there. I've never done that look yet but want to get round to it later in the year.

Yes, I tried the make up once a couple years ago, but this is my first real attempt. I'm not often painting my face, but with the coat I couldn't resist. I followed the advice, or instructions rather, of spraying my face with water, and then shaking my head like (insert tastless Micheal J. Fox joke here). I'm sure if I were to get some green & weight in my hair, that would spread some color. Oh well, looking back I'm actually liking my results, wish I had an excuse to do it more often. Will have to complete the costume first. Thanks for the advice.

Ok it looks like Tabio have pulled the plug on the Joker socks again.
But I may have access to a bout five or six pairs of 6-9 size mens (remember thats english size so probably closer to 6 1/2 - 9 1/2 US).
If there is enough interest I may open a thread in the Junkieyard.

Ok guys I need your opnions on this im putting together a joker costume for halloween and im trying to get as detailed as possible. I need to know where is the best place to get a full joker costume because I have seen the ones on Magnoli Clothiers and thats just too expensive to get all of that for was looking at this one Dark Knight Joker 6 pcs Costume Set * Wool trench Coat Version | CosplaySky.com has anyone got this one and liked it or what? Because I ordered the knife, the socks and the suspenders and getting the gloves off of Magnoli site soon. But is the one on cosplaysky any good or what? Thanks

I just got an email from Tabio yesterday. They will be getting more in on April 26.

Do you know if they will be available on their website, or do I gotta send them an email to purchase a couple? Thanks.

Re mattdogg1223, If I had a smaller budget to work with I'd go for this one personally,
DELUXE JOKER FULL COSTUME Halloween Coat Vest Shirt Tie | eBay

That being said, I don't own it, nor have I read many reviews about it, or the cosplay version you've linked to. As for shoes, Aldo usually has a lot of reasonably priced brown 'joker like' shoes. Best of luck to you.

yeah I would get that one but I already ordered the socks and need the pants too so idk this costume is expensive for a good one lol

Well Cosplay offers their joker pants separate, and an extra pair of socks arent gonna hurt, as the overall price is gonna be slightly less when compared with the full Cosplay suit. All you need is a grey jacket, picked up at a second hand store to complete the look. Heck, you could probably find a navy pair of pants too that would work just fine. Good luck!

Hey guys did any of you dye your Magnoli shirts? I'm thinking about doing it but want to hear the process from someone who has done it...
