The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

The scar appliances are actually pretty accurate - you can't see the depth and the raised detail well in the pictures, but they are there - even the three bumps at the end of the right-side scar. Unfortunately, the pics do not show the raised proportions very well - once I get mine I will be sure to post here - and if you try and make some yourself, I hope you have experience because this sort of thing is not for newbies to the art.

They didn't look horrible to me. The pix just are not the best. I've never played with silicone. That's why I think these molds would be great practice. Can't wait to see your pictorial.

WHOA! This is the opprotunity we need! Someone needs to go there and do some reconnaisance for us! We need a defintive answer on what color the tie is (in person), if theres a logo on the shoes, and, uh... I'm sure theres more! I would do it myself, but theres no way I'm getting to LA any time soon! LOL!

I'm planning a trip up in March sometime, so I'll add Joker stuff to my list. Before I go, I'll see if there's any other questions on detailing and stuff :)

awesome - remember - the most important thing is how the colors look IN PERSON, so dont just take pics - commit to memory what they looked like in person!

That won't do any good. You'd need to take a pantone card to match the color. You can't just remember. Color memory is very poor. Genetics.

LOL, exactly. We usually take several different types of pantones and match up different ones to get the best match. :)

well I'm not talking EXACT color - it should be easy enough to remember if the tie looked green or gold, things like that...

Big update... Shoes and Gloves are finished!

Here are the shoes in brown suede (they photograph more grey but appear a bit more brown in person):

Here are the shoes in brown oilskin:

And... the gloves in purple lambskin:

The shoes will be $350 (shipped), while the final prices for the gloves are still being sorted out...

Kind regards,
Indy

I'm debating about offering ready-made or custom tailored gloves. We can do both, but there is a logistics problem with shipping. What I'm thinking of is perhaps offering ready-made gloves on my site (which I would keep in stock), but then doing runs of tailored gloves for those who want a perfect fit and don't mind waiting an extra few weeks.

Kind regards,
Indy

As far as I have gone to making my wardrobe as best as it can be, I would be willing to wait a few weeks for custom tailored gloves. I would like to know if you are able to send a sample swatch so I can preview the color with my own eyes.
Also - yours shoes are such an impressive recreation! Would you be willing to take payments on these, since I am working totally on cash now and won't be able to charge.
Keep it up - great work Indy - would love to see a Rorschach coat!!

Yes, we can arrange payments via e-mail, drop me a line. As for a Rorschach coat, piece of cake! ;)

Kind regards,
Indy

Indy - I noticed your Joker shoes don't seem to have the toe length and upward curl as much as we are used to seeing in photos.
Would these shoes be able to be made to have that look to them?
Also, regarding the Rorschach coat - which I know will be a popular item once the movie is released - do you have any ideas off the top of your head what something like this would cost? Heck, if you had the time to do the other components to the wardrobe that would save people like me a lot of time huntng around.
Thanks again!

Hey frosty

haha indy and i talked about that same issue earlier. he said that since the shoes are made to order he would be happy to oblige me since i had the same request as you

Hi everybody. Just thought I would share my first piece of Joker clothing. It's a wool coat I picked up from another board. Fits me like it was made for me. It was custom made, just not for me;) Couldn't be happier with it, even though I know it's not 100% accurate.
