The DEFINITIVE TDK Joker Costume Thread/Project

Is there a possibility that certain dyes/bleaches would affect the background material and not the diamonds (or vice versa)?

that creates a bit of a problem in that its the diamonds we want to change color, not the elastic part....

Except that there's a set that's black background with green diamonds. So...if the diamonds won't be bleached, either, then the background should lighten significantly.

You won't get them white. Maybe a yellow-beige at best. And that's pushing it.

usmc has a point though. Do you really want to blow $40.00 on an experiment that may likely fail?

I totally forgot to post pics of my finalized gloves. With the Blu-Ray, I tweaked all of the little details, and now they are divine.
Good luck getting me to make more of them, as I'd rather stick to making people the clothing. :lol
These little guys take a lot of time, as they're all done my hand.

Nope, not stiff at all. They're just unbroken calf skin. Once I wear them a bit, they'll soften up much more, and look much more like my previous pair.

I wish I had the ability to make my own stuff - but great work anyway. They look very thick though - the ones in the movie looked pretty form-fitting, not exactly thick winter-type gloves but more like driving gloves.
I'm still holding out for Indy to do these...
ALSO: I am starting a new thread regarding silicone Joker scars that are in the works - I will post in the Junkyard.

I would suggest lambskin for the gloves. Something in the 1/2 to 1 oz range. Kidskin would be perfect if you could find it in purple, but that's doubtful.

Thats good to hear! :thumbsup

I considered getting some leather/vinyl to practice with, to try and see what I could do about making my gloves "appear" longer. And mabey try doing something for the straps, but I don't think I'm up to it. :confused My gloves just aren't long enough for my likes.

Whoops, my mistake. I don't know why I said calf, when I meant to say deerskin.
They were a special order leather, made especially for gloves. The swatches were even cut into little glove shapes. :)

Anyhow, these gloves are also unlined. So even a glove with a VERY thin weight of leather, would still end up being a little thicker, once you include the lining.

The outer seams are merely the 2 layers together, with the little bit of glue in between. And the more this stuff is aged down, the softer & softer they get.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't ever want to make another pair of gloves again. I quote "Good luck getting me to make more of them"...

I made a pair of gloves once... Once.

Sith, are u offering them here at the rpf??

I MAY take more orders.
I've already had a few previous orders, and may or may not offer more, once all the others have been made.

The main factor will be in how much leather I have left. I had to place a fairly large minimum, to get what I had, so I don't think I want to have to place more.

I have these also listed in my Joker clothing thread. If anyone is interested, they can go and post a note in there.
